Fashion Bug ripoff, credit card pay off not recognized still adding charges and harrassing Wadsworth Ohio

I paid my credit card account in full in the local store and noted in the memo that it was paid in full. I have since recieved additional statements adding service charges and late fees to a paid off account. I wrote to the company and enclosed a copy of the cancelled check (both front and back)along with pieces of my cut up credit card. A copy was sent to 2 separate addresses in two different states and a few credit card pieces were in each. I am still constantly harrassed by people from Fashion Bug and they are now threatening to put a bad credit report on me. I also informed them when I got married and they never would update my account to show the name change. My husband talked to the last one that called and told them to stop calling or we may be doing the sueing.

Did you make the final payment before the due date of your current statement? If by chance the payment was late, or paid in full after your current payment was due, that may be why you were charged a late fee. I know that the bank we deal with seems to tack on those late fees pretty quickly. I have customers that have problems with the bank as well, and I tell them to come into the store, where I get on the phone and call myself to find out exactly what is going on. I speak to someone in customer service to hear things for myself, and almost always I am also able to get late fees removed. If you have kept a paper trail of your payments, I would ask for the supervisor at the credit center. I am an employee of Fashion Bug and I hate to see us lose customers because of problems with the credit center.
