Hired Geek Squad to come and simply transfer some photos from old, infected computer to brand new computer. Agent Hazelwood offered to also transfer everything from old computer to new computer (transfer hard drive) - I told him "NO" - do not want to infect my new computer. He said it was impossible to infect the new computer - Again, I told him "NO" - just want the photos and do not want to take any chances messing up computer. Again, he promised me that it was impossible to transfer the viruses and there was a 30 day guarantee should there be any problems. (As I am far from computer savvy, I agreed, assuming that a "geek squad" agent would know their stuff. Needless to say, the following day, my clean computer is filled with viruses and errors. I called customer service and they say it will cost more money to have him come out and fix the computer because the 30 day guarantee only covers broadband service. Broadband?????? I didn't ask for anything like that, just the pictures to be transferred. Customer service says that Agent Hazelwood's notes don't mention anything about a file transfer so they have to assume he didn't do one and simply fixed my internet!!!!

WHAT???? Unbelievable. I tried to be diplomatic - I tried to explain that this was not the case and if someone would come out and look at my computer they would see the old hard drive is now on my computer - They refuse - They want to charge me another $130.00. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. THEY ARE DISHONEST AND DO NOT HONOR THEIR WORK. THEY MAKE YOU DEAL WITH YOUR LOCAL BEST BUY STORE (GEEK SQUAD HAS BEEN PURCHASED BY BEST BUY) AND THE MANAGERS OF THESE STORES DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE SATISFIED OR NOT - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE ABSOLUTE WORST.

Actually not using The Geek Squad is a very good idea. Not only have I been lied to about an iPod that I tried to get fixed with them 3 times and they never actually did it...they are also being sued on 2 Federal crimes. One has to do with much software piracy and the other is just as bad but I can not recount what the exact crime is. In other words, staying away from "The Rip Off Squad" would be a great thing to do at this point.
