Complaint Review: Anderson Advisors

I used them to do my taxes a couple years ago. They claimed to know how to do day trader taxes. They charged me about $3000. I had a terrible experience. First they made us file an extension (this is pretty standard).

I felt like they gave my case to the most inexperiened hire in their office. First, they doubled my income. (I caught this and they corrected it). Then they listed my wife as the owner of Aetna!!! (We argued and they changed it).

Then they said my few hundred dollar crypto earnings were "not materially important" and omitted this completely from our taxes. (I had to argue to get them to include it). There were also a few other mistakes. All these mistakes dragged on and we barely made the October deadine for filing.

I had one call meeting with them; during this meeting, they tried to convince me that I should set up a company for tax savings. But it sounded more like unwanted complications to me. I also spent so much time going through my own taxes with a fine tooth comb. So yes, I feel terribly overcharged for the service they provided. They are not exactly a total ripoff but it was a terrible experience.
