On February 10, 2004 I was contacted by World Benefits on my cell phone and they offered me a credit card with a credit limit of $2,500. I asked them what the percentage rate was on the card and they said 3% because they work with banks to help people with bad credit help repair it. I accepted the offer and agreed for them to take the one time fee of $299 out of my bank checking account on February 16, 2004 and they would send the credit card within 14 business days.

On February 17, 2004 I contacted World Benefits because they had not taken the money out of my account yet and they told me that they will get on it. On the 19th of February they took the money out of my account.

Around March 5th, I called World Benefits again and spoke to a Jennifer. Jennifer was very uncooperative and had a large attitude problem. I asked where my credit card was and when it will be sent out and she said that there was a delay in the mailing department and that the credit card would not go out for another 2 weeks. I asked her if I could have my money refunded and she said that they do not give refunds. I then asked to speak to a manager or supervisor on duty and she said that there is not supervisor on duty of the owner of the business. I asked to speak to him and she preceeded to say the owner does not speak to customers that I would have to call back between the hours of 11am and 5pm to speak to a supervisor.

Two weeks later I received a package by Federal Express from World Benefits with a package of consumer benefits. I called World Bemefits again to find out what this was and they said that this benefits package is included with the credit card and that they would be sending out a form for me to sign to receive my credit card. Until now I have not received any form or credit card in the mail.

On April 21, 2004, I dialed the number given to me in the benefits package to inquire what is going on with my credit card and the number is disconnected. I then went to the website that is noted in the package and it says the the web site is "forbidden" for me to enter.

EDitor's UPDATED info 2-20-04: Rip-off Report is still receiving complaints that they are not receiving the refunds as promised. Rip-off Report has been in contact with the Company and has made them aware of these issues. They have assured us that refunds are being given to those who are providing them with all the correct contact information requested by them. They have also provided confirmation/proof of over 2,600 refunds to date, on a spreadsheet, and Rip-off Report staff called and verified more than a dozen consumers at random, all very angry & outraged, but, they all did get their refund. The company again apologized for the delay and reported that credit to your account could take as long as 4-5 days. As we understand it, this company only does the processing for all the other companies, so they are at the mercy of those companies funds, further delaying your refund.

Rip-off Report is hoping they will live up to what they have promised, we think they will, ..we'll see. Rip-off Report will continue to investigate more into this situation, and we will eventually post an UPDATE to the main Report at this web address: https://www.ripoffreport.com/view.asp?id=76605

Please be patient, we can only tell you what they are telling us.
