I removed WalMart connect before the free 30 days was up because it was exactly like AOL. I then followed later with a phone call. The first time I called it went nowhere. I tried several times and then a day or so later I got thought.

At that time I actually thought that I had a day yet before being billed. I explained to the India accent guy that I wanted to and why I wanted to cancel. He said he had to check my account and that took a while. It sounded like he was typing. Well cancelling wasn't happening as he smooth talked me into checking something out and told me what to do; to go to the WalMart Page and click on ??? (whatever it was), then he said that they were giving me thirty more days free and told me when my next bill would be.

Nothing was free because they had already (instantly) charged me just then! It didn't hit home until I followed his instructions and realzied that I didn't really know why I was doing so. I didn't get it! So I was mad.

I somehow found three different address' for them on the web but can't find them again now. Wal-Mart Connect Center, 777 Willow Ave, Ste 4, Honesdale, PA 18431-9465; Wal-Mart Connect Center, 167 Hogan Blvd, Mill Hall, PA 17751-1902; Wal-Mart Connect Center, 2084 Lincoln Hwy. E., Lancaster, PA 17602-3329. I did one letter with all three address notifying them to immediately cancel my account and told them what had happened AND... that I had removed the program.

I got first a call from an India accented man by the name of Jason who identified himself from WMconnect and said it was in reference to my call to WalMart Connect regarding my service. The second time Jason called he said that he was from Compuserve and calling for the same reason and said that he would call again.

Then a call came from a KAREN from the Honesdale address who also apologized for the delay claiming that the letter had gone to the wrong address. She said that she would note the call and call me again to make sure that someone from WalMart Connect had called me regarding my letter. The phone number was a long distance one and I don't have long distance service.

She never call again and I was again CHARGED for service that I can't get because I removed the program and passed the CD on to my son in the Mountains. I had passed the CD on the same day I downloaded the program. You can't access wmconnect from another computer unless they too have wmconnect.

The headline in bold on my letter read: WRITTEN CANCELLATION NOTICE followed by the eaddress I was listed under. I threw out the password the same day I deleted the program and haven't been able to recall what it might have been. I refused in my letter to speak to anyone about it as I WAS NOT going to be smoozed again.

I am so angry over it that all I want to do is call the person at the other end a bunch of nasty names. AOL is even worse and also will not cancel you. All they too want to do is force you to keep their service by wrongfully taking your money and then refusing to refund but offering more time free. How is it free once they steal from you?

IF you like these services then you really don't have anything to say because you aren't dealing with the demon trained in every sneaky word possible to get you to KEEP the service. Stealing IS stealing. Stealing and then offering free time with the theft, forcing you to keep something you don't want IS abuse in its rawest form. It is a form of mental rape.

I have just sent out my second letter to ALL three address' again and will be closing my checking account. From what the bank has told me, it really is the ONLY way to stop such criminals. And they ARE criminals in such a PURE form that they amount to terroist in another form.
