Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I signed up for a voicestream plan about in April, I have been nothing but unhapppy with the service from the beginning. I was lured in by the free phone and the 600 minutes with internet access. The only trouble was I wasn't able to use the minutes.

The trouble began immediately with my inability to use the phone from my house. A customer service rep told me that it's a car phone , it's not suppose to work in my house. Well if i'm going to take advantage of free nights and weekends, i need a signal in the house. This was in April. I was told by another rep that they knew service was poor in my area and they're working on it. Of course while they're working on my area , my 72 hour cancellation period is expiring. This was in April.

By the time Memorial Day rolls around this problem area still hasn't been improved and now I'm told there is excellent coverage in my area by a customer rep. Therefore I should have no complaint. But what i discover while barbecuing outside is I have no signal in the yard , or on the street. I can stand in the middle of the street and no signal. No signal, no calls.

In July I go on Vacation in nearby Indiana, in the hotel no reception. So at this point I'm adamantly requesting that I should be let out of a contract that is not benefitting me. Nobody listened.

After all the trouble with reception at home and many places I could not get a signal (In my opinion that is why they offer this 600 minutes 39.99, they have to be aware of how weak their territory is)and i'm starting to live with it. In August I started having another problem .

I couldn't get all my calls . I could dial out , but only occasionally could some one dial in. When someone would dial me they would get a ring then a sound like a fax machine. It took me a month to talk them into a new phone , because they kept switching me around to different people who dind't know what the problem was.( I have since found out that somehow the voice mail had been disconnected). Well anyways they sent the new phone after a month of missing calls, not being able to forward calls, and being a single mother , no emergency number to be reached at while working(self-employed).

When I received the new phone I had to call the have the voice mail hooked up again and that's when I discovered both phones now work properly. Although the older phone for some reason would not keep proper time. I repeat I discoverd what the problem was. They still don't have a clue.

Well I said maybe I can try and live with the service, seeing as they don't want to let you out of the contract. Who wants to take the hook out of the fishes mouth and throw him back in ?

Then the final straw came, I was broke down on the road and tried to call *999 on my cell phone. This is a free emergency road number for all cell phone users in Illinois. I COULD NOT GET THE NUMBER ON MY PHONE!!!!! I could not believe this. I have had Celluar One, Primeco, Cingular, all companies had this free number. Not Voicestream. I am a single mother with a 10 year old Dodge Caravan, this was totally unacceptable to me . I called and asked why I couldn't get this service on my phone. They wanted to know what is *999? I told them. They said they would get back to me in a hour. That was a Thursday afternoon, Monday morning I told them to cancel my service. The worst cell phone service I have ever had. The worst!!!!!!

Also I'd like to say although I to this day don't know what happened, when I signed up for this phone I was ripped off in my checking account. What happened was the agent who sold me the contract (Not a voicestream store) , took my personal debit card info when I signed up for the phone. About three days later someone had used this info to clean out my checking account to the tune of close to $1000.dollars. All unauthorized charges were made to purchase cell phones. A coincidence and unrelated.Perhaps. Perhaps not.

You are so right about T-Mobile!

Goto the search function and type in T-Mobile, and you will see a report by myself. I had almost the exact same thing happen to me, but after two calls to their tech support, I gave up on them 4 months into my contract. Right now I have written them a letter that was mailed more than two weeks ago, and still have not hear back from them. Fight it all the way, because I am. If enough of us do, then they will start loosing money and maybe clean up their act. Good luck and feel free to contact me if you want some tips on dealing directly with companies on complaints!

I really appoligize for the problems you had with my company. I am currently a ccr for t-mobile and was previously a customer for 2 years. I never had a problem with viocestream and hate hearing problems that customers now call in about. I went through the same things as a customer but was always treated great. When you go to your local grocery store is every employee in the place the kind of employee you want working at "your" grocery store. No, Thats the way it is every where. Unfortunately you purchased your phone from an indirect dealer. We get calls all the time from customers saying they were promised one thing and didn't get it. Always read your contract and service agreement when you sign up for anything. I hope you change your mind about T-mobile and also hope to speak to you soon. Just remember, t-mobile is in it to make money. We don't just give out phones and we don't just give out minutes. But what we do try to do is hire the best employees we can. Thanks for your time in reading my response. Hopefully someone out there has the service you are looking for and when you find someone better than t-mobile let me know so I can get a new job.
