Video Computer Store PA Easy to pay for hard to receive
I purchased a $1500 computer system in February 2000 from the Video Computer store. Because it took over 6 weeks for the entire system to arrive, the company graciously upgraded my system from 650 MHz to 750 MHz. However, that system had both hardware and software problems. I returned that system to Zsystems - the company that just makes the tower - The replacement tower arrived in JUNE (Not a typo!) of 2000. This system had both hardware problems - which I was able to resolve through tech support- and software problems, which I was unable to resolve. ZSystems was no longer willing to take the computer back (more than 30 days had passed since the shipping date - of course it take hours to get through to their tech support) Video Computer Store was willing to take the computer and reinstall the software. The THIRD tower arrived in August. The case was scratched up, the faceplace was cracked and the pins that hold it on were broken off. The DVD player was somewhere inside, not seated in a slot like it should have been. Video Computer Store asked us to send it back again. We did because they refused to allow us to return for a full refund and we had already read previous rip off reports and didn't want to lose all of our money. On SEPTEMBER 22nd the FOURTH tower arrived. The insert stated that the computer had been completely replaced because they returned system was unrepairable. The system they send us is made from old components, is 700 MHz instead of 750 MHz and guess what? It doesn't even boot up to windows 98. It can't verify it's own memory. So once again, we have a system that does not work. Customer service is very polite, but they never seem to get anything accomplished.
Do not make a purchase from this company. It is obvious that their technicians are completely incompetent! You may never receive what you order, and if you do who knows if it will work or not. They are very quick to take your money, however!
