Having contacted a service support representative by phone, I have been assured that the useless nokia phone will be removed from future charges on my Wireless invoices. I am waiting for next month's invoice, to see if this has indeed been done. I was neither charged a termination fee, nor a reinstatement fee to keep the freebie Kryocera phone in service. An update will follow as soon as I recieve the invoice. In reply to the rebuttal listed,...I wasn't complaining about the phone not being replaced due to damage,...I was complaining that they would not remove it from service, without a termination fee.

I currently work for another service provider in the Pgh, PA area. Any signs of liquid damage is not a warrantable issue with any phone, from any cell phone manufacturer. The warranty with most manufacturers (Nokia, Motorola, Kyocera, Audiovox, etc...)is 1 year for a manufacturers defect. I dont think Nokia left your phone in the rain. Perhaps you shouldnt take the cheap way out next time and get insurance on your phone. It only costs around $3-4 dollars a month with a deductible of 50.00 or so. Put it in vehicle terms. If you crash your car, you think your dealership is just going to replace the car? As far as the contract goes, its a binding contract. Without insurance, your only other option is to purchase a phone, which is pretty expensive. I think verizons cheapest phone last time I checked was like $149.99 if you are not a new customer or getting the "new every two" deal. So sorry to say, your probably, SOL-s**t outta luck.
