Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
On 6/05/02, I purchased the 2-phone package for $29.95. A Nokia for $29.95, with a Kryocera as a freebie. There was a charge of $20.00 per month for the Nokia phone calling program. Then on the freebie phone, I was charged $35.00 per month, for all the same program on it. Fine,...$55.00 a month for 2 phones was a good deal!

Then within the 1st 30 days, the Nokia slam died. No problem, Radio Shack replaced it, no hassle! Within a couple weeks, I took the new Nokia with me, to pick up a truck for a local dealership. I got in a rain storm, & the phone drew dampness inside the truck, & it died, too! Now, Radio Shack refused to replace this one, because of water damage. I can see this! Oh, well, we still have one phone left, & it's a freebie, anyway.

Now,...how come I have to pay $20.00 a month for a phone, that's layin' in the box, useless?...Because I signed a 2-year lease on both phones,...right!, I fail to see that on any lines in the contract. If I want to change the contract to 1 phone,...then I need to pay a $175.00 termination fee, & another $150.00 installation fee on the freebie phone!

In a couple months, I'll have these phones for 2 years, & feel that Verizon Wireless owes me all back charges levied on the Nokia phone. If I could afford an attorney, I'd have them brough up on fraudulant practices charges,...as I see from this site, it hasn't done anybody else any good, either! I'm sending a copy of this report to the Ohio Attorney General, & the Better Business Bureau in my City.

Having contacted a service support representative by phone, I have been assured that the useless nokia phone will be removed from future charges on my Wireless invoices. I am waiting for next month's invoice, to see if this has indeed been done. I was neither charged a termination fee, nor a reinstatement fee to keep the freebie Kryocera phone in service. An update will follow as soon as I recieve the invoice. In reply to the rebuttal listed,...I wasn't complaining about the phone not being replaced due to damage,...I was complaining that they would not remove it from service, without a termination fee.

I currently work for another service provider in the Pgh, PA area. Any signs of liquid damage is not a warrantable issue with any phone, from any cell phone manufacturer. The warranty with most manufacturers (Nokia, Motorola, Kyocera, Audiovox, etc...)is 1 year for a manufacturers defect. I dont think Nokia left your phone in the rain. Perhaps you shouldnt take the cheap way out next time and get insurance on your phone. It only costs around $3-4 dollars a month with a deductible of 50.00 or so. Put it in vehicle terms. If you crash your car, you think your dealership is just going to replace the car? As far as the contract goes, its a binding contract. Without insurance, your only other option is to purchase a phone, which is pretty expensive. I think verizons cheapest phone last time I checked was like $149.99 if you are not a new customer or getting the "new every two" deal. So sorry to say, your probably, SOL-s**t outta luck.
