On February 2, 2000 I shopped at Truck Creations by Verone located at 2608 N. Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale (480-423-9939 T/480-947-4272 F)for a tono cover for my Chevy S10 pick up truck. I also had been given a gift of running boards by me brother for my S10 which I needed to have installed.

After a discussion of the products available for the S10, I decided on a Tek Sport Tono. The decision was make largely because the sales people told me that I could have my running boards installed when the cover was intalled. The sale people could not give me a price for the install of the running boards until they saw them. I agreed, and made the purchase on my Visa Card. I felt that I would not shop any further, because I could get two jobs done at the same time and save time and access to my vehicle. The appointment was made for the installations to be completed on February 16 at 9:00. On February 15, I called in the morning to move the installation to 8:30 because I needed to make a 10:00 appointment. I was told that it would not be a problem by the woman answering the phone.

Upon arrival at Truck Creations at 8:00 AM on 2/16/00, I spoke with the sales person on duty and was told that they would not install my running boards unless I agreed to let them install them and present me with a bill afterwards. This upset and angered me because now I had to make other arrangements to have the running boards installed as I would not give them Carte Blanche freedom of ripping me off. I told the sales person that I did not want the running boards installed, but to go ahead and do the bed cover. As I was walking out the door to get some breakfast, asked the salesperson what time the truck would be ready because I had a 10:00 appointment. He told me that the installation person had to run some errands and that he would be gone for about an hour. I told him that my appointment was for 8:30 and it was now 8:30. The salesman then yelled out to me, "I don't know what the hell your problem is." That was the last straw. I told the sales person EXACTLLY what the problem was and in no uncertain terms. While I was venting my frustrations, the sales person became argumentative and rude. At that point I decided I did not want to do business there. I did not like the way I was treated, I did not like the sales person I had to deal with, and I did not feel that I would have the support I felt I needed for the proper install and/or post installation support if needed.

I told the sales person that I did not want to do business with Truck Creations, and that I wanted my credit card credited for the

$375.22 that covered the cost of the cover WITH INSTALLATION. The salesman would not credit my Visa and insisted that I deal with the owner, Joseph Verdone. I asked for Verdone and was told by the salesman that he was not in the store and that I would have to call him.

The following day 2/17/00, I called Verdone and was told that he was not in and his arrival time was unknown. The next day, I again called for Mr. Verdone and was told that he was not in. I asked that he call me upon his arrival. Mr. Verdone did call me the afternoon of 2/18/00. I explained to him that I just wanted my Visa credited and I would do business elsewhere. Verdone became argumentative and said that he would not take the charge off my Visa and that I owned the cover. I told him that I bought the cover with installation and on the good faith that he would live up to the agreements that his poeple made and neither of those happened. The installation was not done when I was told that it would be, and the salesperson was rude and argumentative--not a person I wanted to deal with.

I repeated my request for a full refund to verdone and was told no once again. I have begun action with the credit card company to take the charge from my Visa and will pursue any and all avenues available to me to get my refund and not have to deal with this company and its personnel.

3/31/00

Today at approximately 12:00 noon, a message was left on my answering machine by Joe Verdone of Truck Creations by Vedone. Mr. Verdone, among other things, threatened to sue me for slander if I did not retract my rip off report. Mr. Verdone asked that I call him to settle the issues between he and myself and left his cell number. I called Mr. Verdone from my cellular and once again I asked him to take the charge off my credit card and he hung up on me. I can't believe that there is much good faith in Mr. Verdone's desire to settle this between the two of us.
