Top Travel USA Member Services Group, Universal Condo Access, Travel Membership Scam Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
Top Travel USA is located at Beach Place (down the street from the Ritz Carlton) on A1A in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. They have outsourced individuals (ours was from Hawaii) to approach you and answer four questions and you win a three-night stay voucher and/or Restaurant gift card. You have to confirm that you have a credit card and do not live in Ft. Lauderdale. Of course they don't want you living in the immediate area. Then you have to watch a vacation travel club presentation to collect your "gifts". These scam people set up shop in tourist areas because they know you will have a hard time reporting them.
The vacation travel club uses Member Services Group (Little River, SC) for your travel arrangements. After realizing my husband and I had been scammed, we notified American Express (because that is the charge card we used) within several hours. We reported this company as a suspected fraudulent company and wanted to block the charge. We are still in dispute with American Express. The credit card charge shows up from "Universal Condo Access". We have not received any information from Top Travel USA or Member Services Group regarding phone numbers to call, web site, etc.
We soon realized it was up to us to find any information we could on these fraudulent companies. Keep in mind, these people use many different business names and move in and out of the country and from place to place.
What did we find? We could not find any information on Top Travel USA. When you search for this supposed company, you find a web site in Korea or China. We did however find that Member Services Group had fraudulent travel companies (World Presidential Travel, Universal Dreams Travel Club, Leisure Connections Travel, Caribbean Fun Stay) associated with them going from St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Texas and various cities in Florida. Our "presenter" was from St. Thomas.
If you have been scammed by Top Travel USA in Ft. Lauderdale, please call the Ft. Lauderdale Police Department at 954-828-5700 and file a report over the phone. We did. These people need to be stopped and held accountable for their actions.
