This email is a rebuttal to RipOff #3977. It was sent by Elye C. Sackmary at [email protected] Time Warner Road Runner shoddy, quick and unprofessional (#3977) They filed the following rebuttal to the above Rip-Off Report: Their email: [email protected] Their name: Elye C. Sackmary Their phone number: (512)791-6807 Their relationship to the company: Supporter Rebuttal: The following is in no way a comment created as an attack on you or an "Ad Hominem." Just something I picked up from these guys. I was present when the cable man came to install road runner. I asked him questions about his work as I watched him dive into my computer, and he told me he was a contractor, and that most Road Runner installations are handled by contractors. This is in Austin Texas, not sure if it's the same where you are. Time Warner is extremely smart to employ contractors as it's less expensive for them and won't be as high of a salary expense on their annual reports. It also provides a degree of liability protection as the contractor is technically operating his/her own business reselling Time Warner's product. That said, it's the contractor, not necessarily Time Warner, that you have a grievance with. And you are right, the contractor (or business that operates using Time Warner's name), was sloppy in this case and you should not only get a refund, you should get compensation for the hole and half a year free. I'm a business owner, that's how I'd do it. In short, I concur with your appraisal of the shoddy work, I just want to clarify that it was the contractor, not Time Warner proper, that was responsible for the installation. Of course, Time Warner approved this wacko to be a contractor, which speaks poorly of their selection standards.
