I not only am an ex-employee of Sun King Pools but I am also a 20+ year friend of the owner, Paul Jacobs and know him in and out of work. There is no way that he was disrespectful or dishonest to these customers because they are retired, as you state. His own mother is 83 years old and retired herself. His father passed early on in his life and has been his mother's sole caretaker ever since. Paul treats the elderly as he would treat his own elderly mother, with respect. It seems there was some confusion over shipping costs that you mentioned. You have to understand this man's position. He is the owner of a retail business and also installs inground and above ground pools, delivers, maintains and repairs hot tubs and makes many routine service calls. He always has a lot on his mind and he may have confused your parents with another customer's special order. While he's ringing up a customer his mind his thinking about his subcontractors, employees, supplies, deliveries, etc. You state "My retired parents went into the store"...did you ever go into the store with them? If you were so concerned they were being taken advantage of, why didn't you go in with them to pick up the part? Why didn't YOU call the store after they did? If you had a legitimate complaint I think you should have taken it up with him directly. He may have been mistaken and refunded some money.

I am the owner of Sun King Pools & Spas and never in my twenty-plus years of being in business has this ever occurred. If these customers had a legitimate complaint I think they should have contacted me at the store to try to resolve the issue, as I stumbled upon this report while surfing the web. It is my belief that if this incident actually occurred I would have been contacted by the person who filed the report or the customers this person is referring to. Should the person while filed the complaint happen to read my rebuttal I would appreciate it if you would contact me at my store during regular business hours so we could discuss this matter further.
