my wifes 96 ford aspire a lemon at its best had a problem starting turn the key and nothing battery is good sometimes it would start if you moved the gear selector back and forth so i figured it might be the park neutral switch didnt have a repair manual didnt want to spend the time figuring it out being that its memorial day weekend

so i took it into shuckmans alternator and starter repair shop to diagnos the problem figured i could relax but no that wasnt going to happen they said theyd get right on it possibly have it fixed today great while they were looking at it are whatever i took my wife to look at a couple of s.u.v.(s) figuring we might trade in her aspire went back said they couldnt get to it today try back first thing tomorrow

so why did they said there was some kinda problem with the ignition switch "s" wire i figured the b.s. was coming on he also said they rebuilt my starter and reinstalled it ummm that sounds funny but they couldnt start it with the key so they hooked up a jumper wire from my starter solinoid to the battery bracket and and said alls i had to do is turn the key open the hood take the aligator clip end of the jumper thats connected to my soinoid off the battery bracket and touch on the positive terminal of the battery and the car will start and it did i couldnt help but laugh i really have never felt so surrounded by idiot rip offs in my life as for the starter they painted it gray the bill was 99.95 i paid for now.

wait till tuesday thats when they pay oh anyhow i had my wife drive the car home i drove my jeep stopped and got a manual got home read the book popped the hood tested the start neutral switch it was bad took it out took a good switch out of her old 40,000 mile trans (thats another story) installed it turned the key and nothing d**n it i thought that has to be it then i remembered the jumper is still connected to the s terminal at the solinoid on hooked the jumper hooked up the ignition wire and presto ignition :) moral of the story never go to a mechanic ever
