Item 1.  Quote that was given by you was underestimated.  I did say that I had a 2bdroom condo with living room furniture, and a storage unit of furniture.  Understandable that it was underestimated a little since I didn't give exact details on the total furniture.  however. . .

 

Item 2.  I was called on a Tuesday by the qualifier or person to get the estimated shipment.  When he called, I was driving to a client appointment and mentioned that I didn't have the exact information he was looking for, but would have it by Thursday, if he could call back. He said he would.

 

Item 3.  The person that called on Tuesday to Quality Check the size of my move, didn't call.

 

Item 4.  Truck shows up.  May and her team were awesome!!!  They were friendly and helpful.  however.....

 

Item 5.  I was quoted $2750.54 by Kelly so I had that much cash to provide to May for the move.  Thinking this was THE BEST DEAL EVER, I did assume it would increase a little bit.  After everything was packed and in the truck, the estimate came in at $14,600.00!!!!  A far cry from $2750.54.

 

Item 6.  When I asked if I could pay with credit card because the amount had changed so drastically, I was told "No, read my contract!"  I responded with, "Fine, if you want me to read my contract, and take that as gospel, then I'll just pay the $2750.54!!!!"  It cost an additional $600.00 to get the cash advances from a credit cards because of the the gross disparity in shipping cost, and having to use my credit cards as cash advances.

 

Item 7.  Still okay with the fact that moving does cost, I accepted the financial burden and was willing to pay it to get my stuff moved by a company that I assumed was responsible and professional.

 

Item 8.  When asking when I would receive my shipment, I was repeatedly told. . "do you know how long it takes to get from the East Coast to the Southwest?"  I responded with, "of course I do, I just drove it."   Expecting my shipment to be here a few days after, knowing that drivers will only drive 8 hours a day, etc. . because of trucker law, I remained patient.

 

Item 9.  My shipment arrives, no prior notification on my phone, which was the primary number given.  Instead the driver kept calling my daughter who doesn't answer her phone during work hours.  So he sat at my house for an hour prior to me arriving to let the movers unpack my move.

 

Item 10.  Driver steps out, and then 5 other people step out of the truck.  In a way of not being judgemental, but experienced in profiling people, these individuals did not look like the usual shipping movers that I have dealt with in the past 10 moves with the military.  No uniform shirt, haphazard dress, rather unclean.

 

Item 11.  Two "movers" are moving my king size mattress from the truck to the house.  They DRAG it all the way from the truck through my backyard to my master bedroom, while I continually ask.. . . "Please don't drag my mattress, it's going to tear."  I walked back out to the truck and noticed there was no truck ramp, no moving dolly, and no tools (knife's, screwdrivers, box cutters, etc. . the standard stuff you see during a move.)

 

Item 12.  I ask the driver if these are movers, because they really don't seem to know what they are doing, and they told me they don't know how to put my furniture together.  To my shock, when I asked if they were going to put all my furniture together, (at least the big items), the reponse I got was, "they didn't get hired to do that?" 

 

The driver (Mike) was honest with me and told me that he first left the shipping company with paperwork for a move to some other state.  He told them he was going to NM.  They didn't give him my paperwork.  He told me when he arrived, to go get a copy of my paperwork for him from somewhere.  I told him no, that I was not going to pay another dime to this company for something they should be taking care of and is just unprofessional business.

 

The driver went into more detail that he was to drive to NM and to CA (by himself) and pick up licensed/bonded movers to help.  He showed up at a meeting location  in Albuquerque, and nobody was there to meet him.  He went the next day (Memorial Day) and still nobody was there, so he finally went on Tuesday and still no employees.  So to get the move unloaded, he hired 5 people he found at the parking lot of WalMart.  (homeless people he said, who needed money).

 

Item 13. I realized that these people were not movers and asked Mike to call the dispatcher or his manager.  When he called, the first question out of the dispatcher was "did you get her money?"  I heard him and replied NO, not until my stuff is unloaded and in one piece and I needed my daughter to get home to help me monitor the move. . .she was on her way.  Again, as stated above, I didn't expect him, so I didn't have time to get to a bank prior to him arriving.

 

Item 14.  I saw the two ladies that they hired using their hands to tear the tape.  I asked if they had box cutters and tools to do the work.  They said no.  No workbelts to protect their back, no moving carts, nothing.  

 

Item 15.  I called the dispatch guy again and told him that this was unacceptable.  These people were not licensed/bonded/insured, and if they got hurt on my property, it would be my responsibility.  Also, they are homeless and now know all the items I have in my house and where I live.

 

Item 16.  When I was talking to the dispatch guy, he said, "hey. . why are you calling me. . you said your stuff was dropped off and you are very satisfied." I responded with. . . . "I don't have my belongings yet, and NO, not satisfied at all."  He didin't even know the schedule of his driver and where he was supposed to be.

 

When I told the dispatcher (manager) that the people were street people from walMart, he asked me to hold.. . .He got on another phone (not knowing I could hear him. . I guess) and called Mike the driver.  He asked Mike, if he told "her" that these people were homeless street people from walMart.  Mike, being the honest man he was, said, "yes,  She asked why they didn't seem like movers and so I explained the trouble I had the two days before and finally just found people to help."  The dispatcher said, "why did you tell her that. . .she doesn't need to know that!!!"

 

When I heard this comment, I was enraged!!!! How could a company that is taking so much money from me talk to me in that fashion, or about me in that fashion, as if I'm a stupid woman who doesn't know the difference from homeless people and movers??

 

Item 17.  It was clear that I was not getting my furniture unless I paid the final $2100.00 and let the homeless people move my stuff out.  I told him I would put my furniture together myself, just put everything in the garage. 

 

He did, and one of the guys did put my beds together.  Trash was not removed, excess large boxes are still in my garage, trash is in my yard, rolled up tape, etc.  Also, I am missing a ring that was on my bathroom sink.

 

To say the least, I am very very disappointed in this moving company.  I will tell the better business bureau, and blast on social media.  This has been the worst experience EVER in moving. Being in the military, I have moved a million times.  This is by far the most unprofessional, horrible experience EVER!!!!  I know I have one broken hamper that didn't survive and a dog food bin that is dented.  I haven't unpacked everything yet, but getting there. 

 

Item 18.  The two women stopped working so Mike told them to wait in the truck.  The older lady, asked if she could use my bathroom and basically took a birdbath in the sink, as evidenced by all the dirt around the sink and floor.  She walked out in different clothing. 

 

There were no tools or moving equipment to use for the movers, one gentleman was ill, Mike  the driver believes he has liver issues from drinking and living on the street.  These are the people that you  brought into my home to move my personal belongings.  And now I'm missing a ring!!!!  and who knows what else.

 

I am very disappointed in this company and would love to hear from the owner.  I will file a claim as soon as I am unpacked.
