Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Several years ago I foolishly was talked into joining Southern Journeys, Travel Advantage Network.  When I tried to cancel my contract I was told I couldn't but they assured me my family would get so much from it that I would pass it on to my children when they were grown.  In all these years I was only able to use it once and it was horrible.  They totally misrepresented the "condo" that they booked for us.  It was an extremely old, smelly, run down hotel/motel on a back street with a pool the size of my tub.  We were very disappointed and realized we'd made a huge mistake.

When we returned I called to complain which was difficult because unless you're calling to book there's no one to talk to about complaints or answer questions.  Every time you call someone new is in charge and they never return your calls.  Now I can't even find a working phone number.  I finally got someone and they didn't really apologize but said they'd look into the facility we stayed at to determine if it needed to be taken off their site. It's still on there years later.  He offered me an additional "free" week but of course I'd have to pay the processing fees and other hidden charges to use it.  Why would I need it since I had weeks I no longer wanted and have never been able to use.

The "maintenance fee" has quadrupled since I started.  I have contacted them several times about selling my contract to someone else and they responded that they don't handle that and I'm on my own.  Unfortunately the several Timeshare resale companies I called have so many of these from Global Connections/My Vacation Quest that they don't want anymore.  They are selling for less than a third of what we paid for them and you have to pay the resellers a fee upfront.  So you get ripped off to sell what you got ripped off on already.

Isn't there anything all of us can do to get some of our money back? With so many unhappy people I don't understand how they stay out of trouble.

Still trying to get out of contract!

I did a report on this company a few years ago and I'm still trying to cancel my contract.  I have tried contacting this company several times to see if they would give me just 1/3rd of my money back since we have never been able to use thier services and the maintenance fees keep going up every year.  You can not speak to a real person in charge, you get a front line phone person who refuses to listen to you or pass you on to a supervisor. They told me to sell it to someone else but that I had to do that on my own.  Why would I do that to someone else?   Isn't there someone who has filed a class action against this company since there are so many people being ripped off?
