I recieved a check for $1980 from a company who claimed to be Service Evaluation Concepts. I was told to text them to confirm I got the check and then deposit the check in my bank account. I would then be told what Walmert to shop at and what products I was to buy. I would take out $300 dollars for my fee. Sound great, right?
Well, I have no way to text as I'm a little behind the times so I phoned the number I was given to inquire. I received a message that they were unavailable. Okay, so maybe, I'll check the company out. So I Googled "Service Evaluation Concepts" and the word scam comes up, and, indeed, I'm reading quite a few complaints both here and at another site.
So I checked out the web page and Service Evaluation Concepts is indeed a legitimate company, only they're based in New York and Walmart is not one of their clients. I phoned the company and as soon as I told the woman about the check she said, without a blink of an eye, it was a scam. So basically all this Richard character got was my phone number; no real damage was done. Anyhow, if you get such a letter ina manila envelope from some random home address, please beware. There is a legitimatee Service Evaluation Concepts and a ripoff Service Evaluation Concepts. The former is aware of the scam and they've been in contact with the authorities. Meanwhile, be careful when applying for mystery shopper positions; I think that's how these cam artists got my address.
