I need help please anyone!! I bought a 1997 Ford expedition from this terrible dealership at what i thought was a great price!! it turned out that this cheap price came at a higher cost!! My cars check engine light keeps going off and my car is not driving as fast as it is supposed to..i keep taking back to the darn dealership and they keep giving me stupid excuses, i think its because i am a female and they are taking advantage of me..

...well after i leftt he dealership i took my car to a mechanic friend i know and he did a scan on the engine what he found was that cylinders 7 and 8 are not working properly and only 6 cylinders are working!! the dealership NEVER even told me this..i just bought the car on dec 6 and i still have the 30 dealership warranty and i also bought an extended warranty but i am having no luck in trying to get these jerks to fix it for me..

...i dont want my friends to fix it because it will cost me alot of money to get it done...What can i do...dont i have rights as a consumer i wasted almost 20,000 dollars ont his d**n car!! they wont listen to me and lawyers cost too darn much i dont think i should spend anymore than i have to!! please help me please before the dealer warranty runs out!!!

It is very common for some dealerships to sell you an extended service contract that requires 30 days before it starts, then to stall your needed repairs so that the extended warranty will pay for it.

SCHAUMBURG LINCOLN MERCURY OF ILLINOIS IS THE WORST DEALERSHIP EVER!!!(#4034)

Robert Sokol Consumer Advocate for badbusinessbureau.com filed the following Consumer Suggestion to the above Rip-Off Report:

A check engine light is the warning light to about 60 or more sensors on the car. Many times there are 'chain reactions' that cause the check engine light to come on.

For example, one bad sensor can cause all sorts of other sensors to malfunction. When the tech puts his scanner on the vehicle, many times they will replace one sensor and the readings will
come back to normal. Then after a few miles, the check engine light will come on again. I realize that this is very frustrating to the consumer, but the technician is basically bound by what the computer states. Cars have really gotten complicated!

My suggestion is that you should continue to return the vehicle as much as possible during the 30 day warranty time. Then when the 30 day time is up, you will have a writen documentation showing that you tried to have this problem fixed and they should not charge you for fixing this same problem after the 30 day warranty expires.

*NOTE: It is very common for some dealerships to sell you an extended service contract that requires 30 days before it starts, then to stall your needed repairs so that the extended warranty will pay for it.

If you truly do not like this dealership, make sure to inform your extended warranty company of what is going on too. The dealership will be nicely surprised when their claim for repairs has been turned down due to "Prior Condition". Extended warranty companies frown on this type of behavior.
