I found a rate on Progressive.com much lower than what we were already paying with them.  I had to call to complete the quote, when I did , the Progressive "customer service" rep for NYS was extremely rude! 

 We never had a claim with them but I went online to put the insurance in my name instead of my husband's for a better rate.  The quote was $150 less a year. 

 I was told to call the 800 number to complete the process.  The woman I talked to told me the rate would double and explained she found 3 accidents in the last 3 years for my name.  This was completely false.  She continued to question me like a criminal.  I told her she must have me mistaken for someone else.  She told me the info was on Lexisnexis.  

I did not continue with the new policy.  I called lexisnexis and was told I needed to send a letter with a copy of my driver's license.  They in turn sent me a letter back stating they had NO information on me!

Another time I bought a new car, the dealer called Progressive to switch the policy.  He handed me the phone and the female rep asked me the strangest questions.  She kept questioning if another driver other than my husband would be driving my car.  I said no we are empty nesters.  She continued to harass me when my dealer took the phone back and told her this was the most ridiculous thing he ever heard and eventually forced her to do her job!

We also have progressive insurance for our homeowners.  Again, never filed a claim and we just reduced our deductible from $500 to $2500 to save money.  6 months later, our policy increased by 15%, higher than it was with the original lower deductible!!  The reps for the home insurance are much better at customer service, but I was told the increase was due to home owners in my area filing claims! 

I am looking for a different insurance company.  We both have 820+ credit ratings and no claims for the past 10 years.  It is so stressful to be treated this way.
