I don't quite have the ongoing longterm story yet the others do, but I thought I would give an update on the current situation. I may end up having problems. I had my DirecTV installled in mid-December by a Prime TV contractor. Everything went fine. He told me about how exactly to get the $99.00 rebate. I followed his directions and sent the information to Prime TV in late December.

When I hadn't heard anything in about a month, I called back to get the status. I was told that I was approved for the rebate on December 30 and it was "in process". When I asked how long it took, I was told that it could be up to six to eight weeks.

When I asked why it took so long, the person on the other end of the phone said "The mail takes that long". When I told her that I lived only about 200 miles from Southern Pines, and that it would probably only take one day, or two at the most for the mail to get here, she then told me that eight weeks from Dec. 30 is Feb. 24 and that I would get the rebate before then.

So yesterday, (Feb. 10), I decided to call back. This time I was given a different story. The person on the other end told me that he didn't know why I hadn't gotten it yet, and that checks are cut on Fridays and he would note my account to have it cut this Friday, so I would get it early next week. He genuinally seemed like he had heard too many of these complaints and sounded like he felt bad about lying so often to customers.

I asked him if he could guarantee it would go out this week, and he said no, he couldn't. He told me to call back next week to check. So I asked to then talk to someone in accounting and he said he couldn't do that, but he would let me talk to his supervisor.

She gave me another story too. She would hear no argument whatsover...she looked up my account and told me I would have the check by Feb. 24th (8 weeks to the day), and not to call back before then. You can rest assured that if the check is not in my mailbox that day, I will send the complaint to the NC Attorney General's office. I will update this as necessary.

#3Consumer Comment

Tue, April 01, 2003

It has come to my attention that anyone standing up for this compnay must have recieved their rebate check, but if you could be so kind as to direct me to the positive comments about this company, I would be happy to read them. This companies practices are inadiquate and I doubt legitimate. Prime TV should watch for lawyers who's main objective is to destroy companies that thrive on consumer neglect. No EXCUSE can explain or justify why Prime TV has mistreated countless consumers by STEALING their money and tampering with the reputations of legitimate satellite companies like DIRECTV. I am not in the industry, but have been screwed by Prime TV, but they can expect to pay me. ONLY because I have a lawyer in the family. How SAD and disgraceful it must be to work for such a company. I feel sorry for you pathetic blood sucking "Customer reps"

Ex-employee's always seek Vengence

It just amazes me that anyone would take the word of a couple of ex employees only out for vengence. I am going to respond to the backed up mail quote. The mail is openned and processed daily. Perhaps the only mail you saw backed up was on your desk and that is why you are now unemployed.

Unbelievably, my check showed up in the mail today. Actually before the eight weeks was up. So maybe the person who told me that he would flag my check to be printed wasn't lying. This is still ridiculous, you should not have to call a company to get a rebate check mailed, so there are still major problems with Prime TV, but I did get my rebate, so I am satisfied at this point. As long as the check doesn't bounce!

Take Action Now ..You will not collect your rebate money

#10Consumer Suggestion

Sat, February 15, 2003

Contact the NC Attorney General's Office and get the complaint ready to file. Richard from New Mexico is exactly right in what he is telling you. You will not collect your rebate money unless the complaint is filed. The longer you wait, the more time goes by, and maybe you will just forget about it. You would be amazed and sickened at how many victims have not gotten their rebate checks. I have spoken with thousands of these victims as I used to work for this company. Honesty sunk in and I got out!!

Dont hold your breadth waiting for PRIME TV!!..

#11Consumer Suggestion

Thu, February 13, 2003

hi...i have already been thru this with them.....do not delay sending your formal complaint to the NC Atty General.....PRIME TV will not honor what they have promissed you. The only way to get your rebate is to file the complaint with the attorney general...once he contacts Prime TV they have 10 days to respond...usually the cut and mail the check almost immediately so when they respond to the atty gen they can say that they have sent you the rebate already.

Obviously most people wait and wait with Prime tv promissing but doing nothing...the longer they stall you the longer they collect interest on your money.....and just think of all the thousands of people who just give up....PRIME TV IS A SCAM....FTC SHUT THEM DOWN>>>>>
