Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
On November 12,2002 a friend asked me to go car shopping with her. She had already been fast talked by 2 other dealerships (Midway Auto Team and Sands Chevrolet). They would "sell" her a car gauranteed to be financed and then take it back 2 or 3 days later, humilating and embarrising. Not wanting the same experiance a 3rd time I accompanied her.

Upon our visit to Performance Dodge Resale we encountered what had to be about the rudest and most hostile experiance I have ever encountered. The salesman was showing us a car that my friend was semi-intrested in we did the step into my office routine to crunch some numbers.

The salesman took down her basic info and then asked for her social security number to run a credit check. I stated to my friend that since her intentions where to look at several dealerships before buying that she may not want to run her credit yet. That by doing so it lowers you credit score, and there is a possibility of being rejected when she does find the ccar she wants due to her credit being pulled too many times in a short ammount of time.

Then things turned ugly infact outright hostile, he stopped short of telling me to shut my big mouth. He turned to me with obvious rage and said "You know what? I am selling her the car, not you! You are what we in the resale industry call a 3rd wheel, you are over there telling her that everything is bad all the cars are crap and trying to talk her down. And as far as the credit score goes it only lowers it by 2 points." I then looked at him shocked and replied " I have not said anything derogatory about you or your cars nor have I been rude to you and quite hounestly I'm offended at the tone and volume you have taken with me. And I am a 3rd wheel my friend asked me to come along to help her make an informed decision and that includes knowing all the facts and options." He then backed down and tried to smooth things over.

My friend being intrested in the car still was about to proceed when the salesman left and then came back to inform us that the car had been sold, but we have this great other car you should look at. We did and asked him what sort of inspection the cars go through reply " A VERY THUROUGH CHECK". Upon our own inspection of opening the hood we found that the main radiator hose was disconected and the thermostat was exposed. The "very thurough check" obviously wasn't. If it had been then the coolant hoses would be one of the first thing to be checked. That was it we left.

The salesman claimed to have been selling cars for 17 years and all his bussiness was repeat and word of mouth. Well guess what this time he will have wished he kept his shut. And as for him haveing a problume with me being a 3rd wheel, why does he care if i'm telling her anything at all. If he was as hounest as he claimed to be in his continual pitch then he should care less what I have to say. That is between her and I if she wants my opinion, and has absolutely nothing to do with him.
