I was ripped off by this company also but it wasn't the way of everyone else. I worked for Circulation Builders of America. For Sean Impara. I really didn't know that these innocent people were not getting the magazines.
I was told that is was a very easy job you make lots of money but in reality you don't. You get like 20 dollars a night that is not enough to do anything with you have to eat do laundry buy smokes stuff like that.
What we were told to do is I act like we are in a contest. We had to make these people belive that we were winning. I am really sorry to all the people that I sold to, I really am. I didn't know this whole thing was a scam.
The worst part about it was that the managers are really mean when the car handlers didn't have their quota they got beat up. And when you are a female and you don't sleep with him he is really mean to you.
I think half the people on that crew want to leave because they are sick of it. But I think they are scared. Most of the time they don't send you back to where they get you from you have to find your own way home.
I just recently left and I have alot of money that is in an account. I don't think that I will ever see it. One day we got in a car accident and I got hurt. I hurt my knee really bad. I couldn't walk but they didn't take me to the hospital. I had to continue to work. Of course I didn't. I spent my own money to buy one magazine so I didn't come in blank on the day, at least I had one sale. But I was still treated bad. I was called a s**t a w***e a b***h I had things thrown at me all the time.
But it is really hard to leave a job like that. I was scared of what he was gonna do or if he really was gonna send me home. He did send me home but after sitting at a bus station for 7 hours a young girl like me shouldn't have been at that bus station that long. He said that everything was taken care of but I ended spending the only money I had getting me home with all my stuff.
I have no money now. Everything I had went to the expencies of getting my stuff home with me. I wish I could turn back time and never taken this job. I feel so bad for all the people that I hurt. I really am.
I hope every young kid has a chance to read this and not get into this kind of business all it is is a scam. And I really feel for you if you have done it. Im sorry to every one I hurt out there.
