UPDATE!!!

I am happy to write back and tell you I was able to get a new pair of glasses sent to me from Oakley after contacting a "Customer Service" representative through email and then getting a phone call from her...

Thank you....

Dear Sir or Madam:

My wife bought me a pair of Oakley Sunglasses for Christmas in 1998. She paid $130 for them. She bought them at a small store at the Ashland Towncenter Mall in Ashland, Kentucky. In May of 1999, the left earpiece broke for no apparent reason(they had been resting on top of my head). Anyway, I went Online and found their web site and called their "Customer Service department". They said to mail them a copy of the receipt and the glasses and they would fix them. They said it normally took 6 to 8 weeks to get them back. This was in late May of 1999. After about 10 weeks or so I became worried about my glasses, so my wife called "Customer Service" to check on them. They said they hadn't gotten to them yet and not to worry. Several weeks later my wife called again checking on the glasses and was told that they needed $19.95 to fix the glasses because the warranty only covered defects. Well my wife argued with them that it was a defect because nothing out of the ordinary had been done to break the earpiece. So, finally they said they would fix them for free because of the trouble we had been through getting them fixed. So, several weeks later my wife called back again and had to leave a message with a woman because the glasses had been misplaced. A week or so later, we called back again. They said they were fixing the glasses and expect them in 4 to 6 weeks. After about 8 or so weeks, my wife called demanding to know where the glasses were. First, they didn't know, then it was they mailed them and we should get them any day. This was about 3 months ago. Everytime we call back we get the same answer, "they were mailed". I emailed the company at "[email protected]" with the subject addressed to Jim Jannard and several other key members in the organization. I told them I didn't care whether or not the glasses were fixed, I just wanted my $130 glasses back. This email was sent on the 12th of April, 2000. I received an email from "Adrienne" on the 26th of April stating she needed my mailing info to verify my file. I have yet to get a response. My Sunglasses were mailed to them almost a year ago now. Please, someone help me get my glasses back, that's all I ask. Thank you

John Kamer
