My wife and I purchased the entire furnishings for our 1st baby's room at Nippes Nursery Furniture in Bay Shore, NY. They promised delivery 5 weeks before our due date of April 19th. As the deadline approached, I called several times to confirm delivery, each time my calls were met with no delivery date.
Time was getting very short, so I went in to the store and they promised that the furniture would arrive the following week. When it did not, I called repeatedly but no manager or owner would speak with me. They simply said they would call as soon as the items were ready.
To make a long story short, I literally had to leave the birthing room to go let their delivery guys into my apartment! I then ran back to the hospital to finish assisting my wife. After a long, hard labor, I went home to find that they had scratched my walls and left marks all over my floors!
Upset by the ordeal, I called the story every day for 5 days until a manager finally agreed to speak to me. He was rude and obnoxious and refused to believe my story. I convinced him to let me speak to the owner. She was even more rude and literally called me a liar to my face!
I was adamant about not paying the $125 delivery charge and when I said I would not pay it, she said they would sue me if I didnt and hung up on me. I wrote a letter detailing the fiasco and sent copies to the local papers and television stations. When the owner got the letter, she called my house at 7:30am to tell me that I was a terrible person, never shop in her store again and she will take my (expletive) shipping charge off my credit card.
This is a true story down to the letter. DO NOT patronize this horrible establishment or you will be sorry! They completely desecrated what is supposed to be the happiest day of our lives!
