I was totally dumbfounded when I read in the newspaper about NextCard filing bankruptcy in the summer of 2002. Then I read that a banking company was to purchase the larger debitors of NextCard and take over the collection of the debits.
Well I fell into this category...I have a large credit card debit over $3,000.00. Well to my surprise my following bill came with the interest rate lowered to 5.99% I was so pleased. This was for 4 months...until the billing cycle messed up my payment process. As so many people I am paid twice a month the 13th and 28th I account for my payments to be taken out and paid each month from the same pay period each month. Well the holding card company shortened my cycle billing for a payment without my even noticing so I waited untill my regular pay periold to send off my payment.
Low and behold I received the next statement showing a late fee plus my interest rate jumped to 21.99%. I fantically called the number on my billing to go over this error but to no avail I got an automated voice with numbers to select and NO human to help me out. I got on the website they offer no way to email them. This has been going on now for 3 months with no response from the holding company of NextCard.
I feel I have been totally taken advantage of without having the pleasure of knowing how they could get by with this. I am so furstrated I just needed to sound off thanks for listening!
