I rolled into Clarksdale, Mississippi on friday at 3:00 pm in my new Chevy van with only 20,000 miles on it. The engine light came on,the motor started knocking and trying to cut off. I was over 400 miles from home. Low and behold I see a factory GM dealership at the next red light. I managed to get there to Nabors GM/Toyota at 621 Desoto Ave in Clarksdale. It being 3:00 pm I hoped it could be looked at, seeing as they had a full service repair center. I explained the problem. They said come back monday. I explained that I was from out of town, had no friends,relatives,etc. to stay with. I also stated I had a wife and two small children, and a 83 year old grandmother in a wheelchair to get back home to. I nicely asked if one of the service techs could at least look at the van, because it was running fine when I rolled into town. I was told no, and to come back monday.
I drove two blocks to the first motel I found, and was stranded for three nights there in Clarksdale. I returned in my van on Monday morning at 6:30 am. The service dept. finally opened at 8:00 am. They had my van ready in less than one hour. It was a bad spark plug. I was relieved to back on the road, but quite upset that they refused to do anything, even look at the van on friday, three days earlier.
Several months later, same problem. I took it to my local dealer and had it repaired again, still under warranty. I asked for a history report, so I could document this ongoing problem. The dealership history report showed where Nabors GM in Clarksdale, not only charged General Motors for the spark plug replacement, they also charged GM for two-way shuttle service, and for providing me a rental car! I never recieved a rental car or any such shuttle service. Fraud and poor service to say the least.
I contacted the general manager at NaborsGM/Toyota. His name is Neil Draper. I told him they did me wrong and committed fraud at the same time. I told him I only wanted to be reimbursed for my motel stay. I asked for only $200.00. The total for a three night motel stay. He told me "go complain to GM." I have reported Nabors GM and manager Neil Draper to the Better Buisness Bureau in Mississippi. Bottom line is this; they ripped off GM, they will rip-off you too. Stay away from Nabors Chevrolet in Clarksdale, MS. They are definitly "the home of the blues."

Every thing is possible but. The real Question is it cost effective. No it would not be. They had a good reputation because the had good service at dealers. How ever, as with all dealers and car companies the have a hard time getting good-trained techs. This is a fact. As things become more advanced, you will still have computer programming issues. And in America PEOPLE SUE OVER EVERY THING!!!!!

They have been working with the feds on the floor mats for over 2 1/2 Years If they are found guilty justice one Toyota 0 .If innocent who messed up or was it legit proof? The court and jury must decide. But their is always two sides to every story

Most if not all cars made as of 2009 have them, they are now built into the Air bag Control Unit (the Air Bag computer). They record only if one of the crash sensors records an impact. they record Information such as steering angle sensor, brake switch position, Air bag DTC's prior to the crash, Some record engine and transmission DTC's. Now as I have told you many times an air bag will not deploying in a crash that dose not meets the manufactures' specs. It is a very low chance of failure. Only a trained Crash investigator can determine if the SRS system was malfunctioning at the time.
You must not read their statement about air bags. Did you know if you are closer that 10" from the wheel and it deploys you can die? Do you know what SRS stands for? Did you know a seat belt can stretch 6" in a crash and must be replaced in all head on crash repairs? If you are asking if their are defective parts EVER put on a car then Yes their are but they are quickly fixed when they are discovered and how to fix it. You are posting things you don't even Understand. The roll over buy failed ball joints has been fixed. Subaru's wheel bearing failure has an extended warranty. the Sludge for Toyota, VW, and Audi have been settled, fixed or oil type changed. BMW PODS is on a recall for one that will last longer; Hondas rusted air bags are recalled. Floor mats that detach are removed. MAF sensors now have a longer warranty. Rusted Frames recalled. Fire cruse switches are recalled and then expanded.
You should not believe every news access. Like 60 Minutes report on Audi's running people over. They were sued and lost. Why? They modified the Audi to get the malfunction to happen because they could not get it to happen they spent 30 seconds Apologizing for it. I do not hear you harping on the 60 minutes LIE. So What happen Audi almost left the country for this LIE because people were confusing the brake with the gas! A news report LIED on an Attack in Iraq and used pictures from two years prier. When called out they said It is not our fault. The actual attack was the bomber blowing him self up in front of his hose not a hotel .

have, according to at least one Toyota owner whose AIRBAGS didn't deploy when their Toyota was in a collision, okay? Simply 'Google' this- ENGINE SLUDGE, and go to the consumeraffairs website about 'Toyota Engine Problems', and click on- 'Airbags' and read the most recent complaints. I believe the person who mentioned the 'EDR', or "black box", lives in Big Sandy.

The only person that was ripped off was GM. the dealer found a bad spark plug and replaced it. months later (miles????) another failed and another one was replaced. and he has no right for hotel reimbursement unless the warranty he has says so.The rip off is what the dealer charged GM for that was not received.

I just wanted to say to the original poster, I agree with you that what Nabors GM did was wrong. There are a lot of dealer service departments that are less then honest. Have you contacted GM about the fraudulent claims made by the dealer?
I worked for The Chrysler Corporation for years and they have a whole department that handles issues like that, and I bet that GM does to.
And to Karl, not that I disagree with what you are doing on ROR. Trying to educate the masses. But there are just some that it would be easier to educate a rock quarry. And just a little tid-bit of information. The Collapse of the Chrysler Group started LONG before Jim Press ever thought about joining Chrysler. It started in 1998 when Daimler bought out Chrysler. Which was only exacerbated when Daimler sold Chrysler to Cerberus. Check Google I am pretty sure I'm right.
But I guess that is neither here nor there. And Charles, buddy I think you have major anger issues and you are commenting about Stacey which has NO relevance what so ever to this post. **Psst Stacey, I think you have a stalker.**
Anyway back to the matter at hand which is the Fraudulent Dealer that the original poster is dealing with. Once again, I suggest that you contact GM directly and inquire as to how you would report fraudulent warranty claims made by a dealership. And you never know, they may reimburse at least part of your motel stay.

Thank you Karl I appreciate the complement but I stick by what I said - I enjoy my GMC Sierra 3500, had a great salesman who stuck to the original price and will buy another GMC Sierra from them again - I did not get screwed, he got his commission and they got a customer for life -
I know there are many people who have been screwed by dealerships but I have a advantage - My Father is a CPA, has been through many audits with dealerships, knows the ins and outs and I have learned that

They probably had a full day Friday. In some dealers, Saturday is for oil changes. Which spark plug was replaced? You do have more than one. The way warranty works is that, you are only aloud to replace the bad part. It sounds like thy replaced one plug and seven months later (how many miles?) another one fails. What is a rip off for GM is the Loaner and shuttle service charge. Dose your warranty cover Hotel Stay If not you are responsible for that. So the only person ripped off was GM.
And as for Karl You are a broken record (you should Google that if you do not know what that means). Their are bad dealers and good dealers bad doctors good doctors Try to post relevant things regarding the Rip off post and don't waist space with your copy and past statements.

I have had my GMC Sierra 3500 Truck for 7 years without a problem except the normal wear and tear - How many times times a year do you have your oil changed, tune ups etc etc -
I have nothing but GMC vehicles since I have been driving (9 in total). The only problem I ever had is when I did not service my vehicle properly
