Myline Kamsch is charging illegal late fees on her rental properties. She is charging 15%. North Carolina Law allows $15.00 or 5%. Please be aware that if your lease says 15% she cannot collect the late fee from you.

1999, Myline Kamsch was awarded this house from a divorce settlement. She had never been a landlord prior to that and under the advisement of an attorney (I was present when she was told this) of the amount of late fee to charge. She did not question the legality of this information nor did I. I have since revised all rental leases to be legal with the state of NC. By the way, that tenant never paid us for 2 1/2 months rent that she owed while in the house and she did not pay the late fee.
