I have so many complaints about this company, I don't know where to begin! First, I went in to look at used convertibles. I test drove a VW Cabrio, and decided I was interested in working out the numbers with the Auto Team in the Fleet Dept. A couple of days later, I got a phone call that I had been approved for a loan, and that the Cabrio was still available. I was in bed with the flu, so I told the salesperson I would be in the following day to make a deposit.

I received several phone calls over the next day-and-a-half from various Auto Team members. At 9:30 pm, a finance manager called and asked me to come in at a later date, as he had the following day off. I was concerned that I hadn't put a deposit on the Cabrio, but he assured me it was being held "in the back" and would be there when I came in.

I received a call the next day from the salesperson asking why I hadn't come in to make my deposit. I told the man about my conversation the night before, and he said that I needed to come in and make my deposit immediately. If I didn't, the car could be sold.

I left work early to bring in my deposit. When there, I met with the finance and sales director for the fleet department to discuss my frustration. They apologized for the confusion, and took my check for a $500 deposit. At this time, I received a receipt, signed and dated, for a "$500 deposit on '01 VW" and included the VIN number. We agreed I would be back in two days to complete the paperwork and pick up my new car.

Two days later, I received a call from the salesperson at 8:30 am. He left a message saying that my car was detailed and ready for pick up. I arrived at Midway Auto Team at about 1:30 pm. Another salesperson brought me the keys and paperwork. At this time, I noticed that the paperwork and key said "Mitsubishi Eclipse".

I laughed and told them that they brought the wrong person's information. The salesperson looked confused and went to talk to a manager. After about 45 minutes of waiting, the manager called me into his office and said that the Cabrio had been sold!

I got upset, and asked how this happened. They did not offer an explanation, nor an apology. They told me that I could take the Eclipse, or leave the property. I was upset, and asked how this happened. The manager told me that the car had been sold. I could take the Eclipse or leave. He added that my receipt was not valid, why I still don't know!

I did not want an Eclipse. I was there for the car I made deposit on! I was told to leave the store. I saw my original salesperson on my way out. I asked why he called and told me that my car was ready, when, in fact, it was sold! He told me that I would rather have the Eclipse! I explained that if I had wanted an ecplise, I would have made a deposit on an Eclipse. At this point, they told me that the police had been called, and I was to leave the property immediately.

I was not threatening. I was not out of control. I was upset because I was wronged. I am disgusted by the way in which I was treated.
