Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Mark Chamberlain Old Movies Restoration or whatever he is now calling himself is a lying, scamming blackmailing theif.  Based on his website, he claims to have 30 years experience in his field so you think he will do a good professional job with your product.  He pays for shipping your product to him.  Once he has your product (in my case my old movies) in his hot little hands, he emails you an invoice, with an outrageous over price to begin but even more outrageous is that in his invoice he states for the first time, that he requires FULL payment FIRST, and will only accept checks, no credit cards.  After the check clears, he will send you your product.

Now this is where is scam comes in . . . he never mentions on his website that he requires payment first, and he also never mentions in his website that he requires checks only because if he did, people wouldn't give him any business.  So he lures you into sending him your product first.  Now, if you are not happy with this form of payment, he will hold your product as hostage.  He will keep your product unless he gets your money first.  If you don't send him a check, he will keep your product.  He uses this tactic hoping that the more precious your movies or photos are, the more you will do to get them back.

Another scam here is the BBB (Better Business Bureau).  When you go on their site, you will see an A+ rating.  So this will make people think this guy is on the up and up, right?  Wrong.  The BBB doesn't use creditable information for their rating system.  As long as a company shows them what the requirement are to hold this rating, they will get this rating.  No matter how fictious it is.  Just show them the numbers, any numbers and they will hold the A+ rating.  The A+ rating is not based on factual information or the legitamacy of the company.  So don't be fooled by his A+ rating.   The BBB is suppose to protect the consumer from scam artist, instead, they protect the scam artists.  This is because the BBB is a bigger scam than Mark Chamberlain Restoration.

As for the Attorney General.  All they do is read your complaint, then they contact the company, in my case Chamberlain Resoration.  After he lies his way out of why he is keeping my movies, the Attorney General closes the case.  This is the length of their investigation.   So this gives scammers more ammunition to keep frauding the public.  They have the backing of the BBB as wells as the Attorney General's office.

If you value your precious movies or photos.  Don't give your business to this guy.  He doesn't stand by his product, he has no heart to try and work with you and since I never got to see my finished product, I'm sure he does a horrible job at that or he would stand by his product.

The mistake I made is that I didn't read the reviews on this guy.  All I did was check with the BBB.  Don't be fooled by the A+ rating, this doesn't mean anything.

Ann
