back in 98-99 i subcontract two brothers len and anthony leonardi, also known as leonardi builders and t.leo constructions, to build my home. they were super nice untill got my deposit. total contract was $68,000 in or about 1/3 of the perfomed work they simply walked out accusing me by not paying them. untill that time they were paid $53,000. also they refuse their own receipts!!!! and it gets better- they never paid lumber company for the framing materials, so i had a lien on my property.
to make it better- they had another project not far from my home and to make their life better, all materials were delivered to me and then by their trucks removed to another site.
you guest it right- i got stuck with those bills too. even after i discharge them they were still manipulating with all materials, and i got even more bills.... even that they done only 1/3 of the contract, most of their "professional" work had to be redone, again at my cost. yes, i went to court and i won, but i probably never see this money again. i filed complaint with b.b.b., state warranty and governor, but it is only a joke- they not able to do anything about it- i only had their's sorry letters in responce.
later i had more info about leonardi's- i was not alone. even state police has plenty of complaints abou them from people like i am.
i am not looking to get my $- i am only trying to help others to stay away from them by spreading the word this way.
if you need a proof- i have all papers, receipts and court orders in my hands.

I have decided to write a rebuttal after all these years to give my brother another reason to rest in peace. I won't go on saying negative commentary or insults about the homeowner - simply that he filed a false report. My brother (may he rest in peace) and I worked so extremely hard for many years, making hundreds and hundreds of peoples' dreams come true. I guarantee you that there are many, many customers out there that would only have wonderful things to say about my brother and myself, and Leonardi Builders. This was a typical homeowner/contractor dispute, where my brother and I were young in business and made the rookie mistake of doing extra work without getting a signed change order first. The homeowner didn't want to pay what we were charging for the extra work, so we stopped doing work (of course) until he paid. This turned in to a standoff, and accomplished nothing for anybody - a bad way to do business. I appreciate the experience from this homeowner, it was a good life and business lesson - we moved on and had a very successful career for many years, making many people very happy. May my brother rest in peace.
