Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
In 2000 My wife, mother and I went to Landmark Chevrolet to look at new cars.We were greeted by a man that seemed really nice that looks like Jerry Garcia (from the Gratefull Dead). He advised that we kept to the Cheverlot Cavalier since we were on a tight budget.I had explained to him that we did not have much to put down and he said that was not a problem as long as I had a checking account.I asked why and he told us about dealer rebates. How they can be used for a down payment etc..

Well when we found the car we wanted I began asking about price since it was just a couple thousand less than what a friend had told me he bought his Monte Carlo for. He said to leave the price alone since we needed the rebate because the price determines the rebate.Fair enough I thought.

When we get into the office he explains that I need to write 2 checks for the down payment. I questioned him on this and he explained that they only use the checks to show the lender that a down payment was made and that they hold the checks untill the rebate comes in then they were destroyed. He also explained that the rebate comes to the dealership to insure that they get thier money.

All was good till 2 months later the lender calls to verify the transaction. The monthly payment went up about 40 dollars a month (compared to the contract we had read and I signed at the dealership). I thought it was odd but just dealt with it because we needed the car and I had other issues to deal with.

3 and a half years later I take my sister in law up thier to help her find a car and the same salesman is still thier so it was the same exact thing over again only I wrote the check for her down payment rebate swap. Well I did not know this but you have 3 days of recission if you change your mind. Her granpa who is a state judge told her to take it back and he would give her his fairly new Ford Sport Explorer for free. So she did the day after she bought it.

Well 4 months go by and I learn I have a warrant out for my arrest from two checks I wrote back in 2000 to Landmark Chevelot. I call for my salesman and I am put to collections. I explain what happened and on the contract I signed there was a 4500 rebate. She looks at the contract and it is only 700. I was also told that I signed beside it!

You do the math my monthly payment goes up by 40 dollars and threr is a different rebate amount which by the way was in the dealerships amount and I supposedly signed it! Now If I wrote them a hot check do you think they would let me write another one for the same amount 3 years later with the bad one still out there? The lady said for me to stop trying to scam her, she has my signature and refused to let me speak to anyone over her.

I will have the last word on this because they do not realize I know they forged my name. TO ANYONE WHO READS THIS DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS.I AM PROOF THAT THEY WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO CLOSE A DEAL.
