Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I have cancelled my gym membership at LA Fitness for one reason and one reason only: I no longer get to see or visit Keith Friberg, former owner of the smoothie counter inside LA Fitness. Keith has moved on to bigger and better things, however I am really upset that he is gone. Keith received a number of ripoff reports against him for no reason, all coming from the same jealous individual who had some serious mental issues. Now, let me just say the type of person Keith is: He is the most charming, sweetest man I've ever met. There wasn't a single day that went by where you didn't see Keith walking around the gym handing out free smoothies, shaking hands with friends, and giving other people big hugs. There wasn't anything that this guy wouldn't help you with. The reason I am writing this ripoff report is against LA Fitness for forcing Keith to sell his business and move on. You will never see me, my family, my friends, nor anyone I tell this to ever enter LA Fitness again UNLESS KEITH FRIBERG returns! If indeed that Keith Friberg comes back and re-buys the smoothie counter, I will gladly sign back up to LA Fitness and once again become a member. The departure of Keith Friberg has made so many of us members so upset to the point we all had to seek counseling. I am not the only member who cancelled their gym membership because of this. There are dozens of us, all devastated at the fact that such a crummy gym would allow such an amazing person pick up and move his business elsewhere. We all love you Keith! Please come back! As for LA Fitness... we're all fed up with you!

About a year ago I noticed my love affair with LA Fitness Wellington waning.  I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but the place just didn't have the same welcoming feeling it once did. Then it hit me.  Keith was gone!  I guess it didn't occur to me right away that he was gone for good because I was used to him taking extended trips and missions to help out in third world countries, providing medical care to needy Haitians and spreading the word of god.  This time it seemed a lot more permanent.  I hadn't seen Keith in months.  I'm a regular at the gym, some may even call me a gym rat.  However, in the years I've been a customer of Keith's I can count on 1 hand the amount of times I've paid full price for a smoothie.  Keith has either always offered me a discount or just given me the smoothie for free, accompanied by a smile and an enlightening scripture quote to brighten my day.  So with this being said, I am no longer compelled to renew my membership at LA Fitness and will be taking my business to Planet Fitness.  I'm not mad at anyone about this and this isn't me being passive aggressive.  I just see no reason to pay a premium gym membership if my $35.99 per month doesn't include unhindered access to a 6'7", muscular and tanned Adonis, ladling out ice cold smoothies with a heartwarming smile.

Regardless of your opinion, LA Fitness has no "contract" when signing up; therefore, I have had no issues with cancelling my membership, and neither has any of the 33 members whom I've gotten to cancel their respective memberships, either. Paying "hundreds of dollars" to cancel isn't applicable in this situation. I understand, judging by your abhorrent vocabulary, vacuous spelling, and overall lack of intellect, that you wouldn't comprehend this situation because you're probably 1) unemployed, 2) uneducated, and 3) work for LA Fitness. The numbers speak for themselves: 33 members and counting I have had quit the gym. So mind your own business!

Really, self entitled much? Or better yet self-important alot? YOU have no idea whats going on behind the scenes. As you are not privvy to that information, you are only seeing the surface of the ENTIRE situation. Maybe its a good thing that you and your freinds and your family ect will not be a member of that fitness place. I cant imagine WHY you think they would CARE about your reason for leaving. If this person has to sell his shop, then its a descion that comes from higher up. And those guys wouldnt give a rats a*s if you leave. There are plenty of ppl out there with self image issues.

You are acting like a spoiled child...next thing youre going to tell us is that youre going to hold your breath until the smoothe shop opens again. Even if a full half of the customers cancelled their member ships, a foolish choice, they still wont budge. See if he is giving away product then he isnt making the money he needs to make to stay open there. Or there is external influences that have forced their hand.

FYI: Good Luck trying to fight the ETF in your membership contract. As I understand it LA fitness has one of the strictest ETF. If your cancelling even ONE DAY early the hit you with the WHOLE ETF. But I guess your freind is worth the several hundred bucks your going to pay out if they charge you the ETF. Contract law doesnt allow for cancellation due to "your freind not working there"

And counselling...really??? Its someone moving on with their life. Just because someone leaves doesnt make it a counselling worthy event. Well not unless youre some form of SUPER DRAMA QUEEN, then it would make sense.
