Jim Tidwell Ford as bad as Firestone
Seven weeks ago I purchased a new $28,574 Ford Explorer from Jim Tidwell Ford, Kennesaw, Ga. I have the Firestone Wilderness tires on my new vehicle, although they are not the VD designation from that particular plant in Illinois, I am still greatly concerned that all of the Wilderness tires are suspect.
I have written by certified mail to the President of Ford, Emailed and also Emailed Firestone about getting replacement tires. I have NOT heard back from Ford and Firestone gave a long press release sort of reply which in fact did not address the issue of their providing me with different tires.
Clearly these two firms are not doing the right thing, they are dealing with this like Nixon dealt with Watergate, just giving a little here and there but not standing up to be counted.
I told Firestone that unless they arrange for replacement tires I will get it done myself for $574 and sue them in small claims court for the money. When I spend $28,000 cash money for a vehicle I dont need this bullshit about having tires on it that might kill me. This is my 2nd Ford vehicle and it is going to my my LAST one! W. So.. they aren't the tires Firestone had the problem with, but you "FEEL" Ford should replace them? You drove off the lot knowing what tires were on the truck? I have Wilderness tires on my Explorer and F250... no problems. But I know the type of person you are. I've been behind you (someone like you) in line at Dunkin Donuts or at Wal-Mart or where ever. You are never satisfied, I'll bet your food order at a restauraunt when delivered to your table is always wrong.
