In October 1998 I signed up with the International Web Institute, (3801 N. University Drive, Suite 315, Sunrise Florida 33351; Phone 1-888-252-3332, online-www.intlwebinstitute.net) Mike Fennel, Matt Luggery and Jeff Davis are the contacts. Students need to the work on complete website design. All they ask to develop the web site are: permission for students to use web site for display at seminars for 12 monthw and host the site for 58.00 per month for 12 months. Professionally designed 6 pages for 696.00. Up front. I sent the money and worked with their "students" and sent them the appropriate material. Even went on the web to view a mock up of the site (it wasn't bad) and give final approval. Then, can't reach them by phone, fax or internet.
On May 18, 1999 I receive a fax from International Web Institute that says that they merged with a Texas Company, it didn't work out and they have to move out of their exiting facility and are looking for a new one. Then nothiing more. Calls to the Florida state attorneys office and better business bureau and chamber of commerce proved futile.
In June, 1999 I receive a fax from WorldWideWeb Institute of Toronto Cananda and Fort Lauderdale florida with a program that is virtually the same as the one from the International Web Institute. I called them and they say they never heard of the International Web Institute "but there are a lot of knockoffs out there".
Bottom Line is I'd like the original web site finished or the 696.00 refunded. IF both companies are scamming I'd like to nail them and if the second one is legitimate I'd like to see them take a more active role in policing the type of business they are in. Thanks
