Integrity Movers ended up charging me nearly double what its representative originally quoted. The company accepted a personal check and credit card respectively for my pick up costs and deposit, yet upon delivery, demanded more than double the estimated costs in cash.

I offered to pay the balance of the original estimate plus 15%. I even offered to pay the 3% fee the company would have incurred for using a credit card, but that wasn't good enough for them. They held my belongings hostage to essentially extort more money, they lied and preyed on my rushed circumstances, its representative hurled anti-Semitic insults as a way to intimidate me and threaten my comfort in my new neighborhood and its movers damaged and stole several of my belongings as a way to punish me for challenging them.

Despite providing an initial estimate of $2,400, which was specifically quoted to include hoisting, storage, wrapping of furniture and moving costs, Integrity Movers increased its total fee to $4,515. This is an 88% increase, which is significant because Integrity's web site states that The amount due will not exceed the estimate by more than 15%. You have our guarantee.

Furthermore, Integrity charged me for 32 total hours, which was for all loading, unloading and travel time; however, the actual total number of hours the entire move took amounted to only 18.25. This means Integrity overcharged me for time by 13.75 hours or $1,650. Integrity also artificially inflated storage, supplies and other charges. In the end, the company stole over $2,200 from me.

I attempted to dispute the first set of erroneous charges early on and was even told by the owner that many of them would be waived. In the end, the company reneged and began adding even more to its fraudulent bill. The only reason I paid them was because they were holding all of my belongings ransom.

At the time of delivery, the movers began bringing furniture into my house. Soon after, we began arguing over the bill and the method of payment at which time they removed my belongings from my home against my will. Then the foreman ran around my street calling me anti-Semitic names, so I phoned the police. My neighbors and I heard the foreman call me a stupid J**, a J** thief and say that his company was a big company against which I was powerless to do anything.

Still, I had no other choice than to pay the foreman in exchange for my possessions. Once I checked the items his crew unloaded in my house, I found several items missing or damaged. I repeatedly contacted the owner of Integrity Movers to resolve the dispute; however, he and his manager refused to remedy the situation.

I officially pressed charges for Theft by Deception and Criminal Mischief and will also be filing a civil suit, seeking actual damages, punitive damages and legal fees. Not only does Integrity owe me for the extorted funds, but also for damaged/missing goods and for countless hours of aggravation and time wasted. The total financial hurt they have caused me is over $10,000, yet the aggravation of dealing with them has been far more burdensome. The company has repeatedly responded to my claims with blatant lies, counterattacks and veiled threats.

Justice could really only be served by the courts putting this company out of business and throwing its owner in jail. Unfortunately, I have learned that when it comes to dealing with companies like Integrity, the research points to a broken legal system. While I would rather seek justice in the form of preventing Integrity from preying on other unknowing people, I have been advised that my best option is through civil court. I have been told that with the evidence I possess, my case is very strong and that the odds are good that I would be awarded somewhere in the ballpark of $30,000. If this turns out to be true, I imagine it will give Integrity pause. Still, I will never be able to stop the company from continuing its practices, so be warned.

The Integrity movers compalined about above appears to be gone. They lost thier license in Jan of 2004, and their mailing address at that time was in Scottsdale, AZ. I think it's safe to say you won't be mixed up with them anymore.
