Couple years back, I purchased a TV on a 12 month no interest deal best buy had, financed through hsbc. I have never seen such a big scam and rip off. The first time,I mailed my check about 8 days BEFORE the due date AS RECOMMENDED on the bill. It didn't get credited to my account for TEN days. I called hsbc(best buy) and they were nice enough to refund the late fee. The SECOND time, I had mailed the check 12 days BEFORE the due date. They were still recommending 8 days on the bill. Those SOB's STILL hadn't credited my account by the 14th day. I called best buy's corporate office and raised hell, then called hsbc and those sob's went ahead and BACK DATED my account to show a timely payment and no late fee. There's no way in hell a check takes 12 or 14 days to get to CA from TX. Those guys are sitting on payments just to rack up late fees. The last and final payment I sent return receipt requested, just to have proof it had arrived so they didn't try and jack me for the whole year's interest. It was 4 days from the time it arrived until the time it was credited to my account. I had a similar account with GE. They are in FL. It took TWO/THREE DAYS, from the time I mailed it to be credited to my account. After that, I refuse to do business with ANY company that has hsbc as their finance company. I ask before I purchase. I haven't done business with best buy since. hsbc's business practices are costing these companies business yet hsbc is making the profit AFTER the sale. When are these companies gonna learn that they need to police their financier's?

EVERY 0 INTEREST AGREEMENT I HAVE EVER SIGNED STATED THAT IF I WAS LATE OR WENT OVER THE LIMIT, THAT THE 0% GOES TO THE CURRENT RATE FOR THE CARD. NEXT TIME STICK TO THE TERMS THAT YOU AGREE TO WHEN YOU MAKE THE PROMO PURCHASE!!
