My husband and I purchased about $5,000 worth of electronic equipment from Best Buy in Mays Landing ,NJ. We paid off the account very quickly. In May I wrote in my check ledger than we had one last payment to make and then the balance would be zero. However in June we never received a bill. At the end of June we did receive a collections notice for over $760.00. This was the remaining balance plus over 1 year of interest.

They would not speak to me since my husband was the primary holder. when I finally was able to explain the error, they would not accept any fault and left the payments as is. A payment of less than $200.00 has now turned into over $800.00 worth of collections headache. The agency calls morning, noon and night, asking if we are filing for bankrupsy since we "can't pay our bills?" A female will call to say she has a private matter to discuss with my husband.

Even though we have turned this over to our attorney, they still call and stated they will continue to call and bother us. At this point, they are harassing us. The federal Trade Commission has an open case on this company for such actions. There are also numerous websites helping folks like us with very similar experiences with HRS.
