I would like to express to you how appalled I am at HH Gregg and the General Manager of the HH Gregg store in Clarksville, IN. On June 6th I purchased a Canon ZR 10 Digital Camcorder for $899. The sales associate, Josh McDonald, told me if I was interested in the camcorder he would throw in a bag, tripod, and a tape. This was the deciding factor in my purchase.

When he priced out everything he told me that he could not list the bag, tripod, and tape as being free so he deducted the price of those from the camcorder, so the total would be $899 (the price of the camcorder): Camcorder - $839, Bag - $19.99, Tripod - $29.99, and tape - $9.99.

A week later I noticed that Circuit City (a local competitor) had the same camcorder for $855 (with the bag and tripod). I returned to the HH Gregg store to receive the price adjustment, since it is HH Gregg policy to "refund the price difference, plus another 10% of the difference." I initially had some problems because Mr McDonald had listed the camcorder as only costing me $839. Mr McDonald corrected this problem with the customer service employee, and I was refunded $48. Up until this point I was very happy with HH Gregg.

Here's were the problems started. Today, June 18th, there was a ad in my local paper in which HH Gregg had listed the Canon ZR 10 camcorder for $809.10. At the top of the ad read "Prior purchases excluded."

How could prior purchases be excluded if HH Gregg has a policy to "refund the price difference, plus another 10% of the difference?"

I went to my local HH Gregg store to inquire about a price adjustment. I talked to the General Manager, Mr. Todd Hoffman. He explained that since I had received the bag and tripod I could not receive the price difference. I was very confused since I was offered the bag and tripod for FREE! However, he did offer me $40 off. I was pleased, until the customer service employee noticed that I had already received a price adjustment. He notified Mr Hoffman that according to their records I had only paid $790 for the camcorder. This $790 is a result of me being charged for the bag, tripod and tape which were offered to me FREE.

In all actuality I paid a total of $850 for the camcorder because the bag, tripod and tape were FREE. Upon learning of my prior adjustment Mr Hoffman came up to me and said, and I quote, "YOU ARE STARTING TO IRRATATE ME." He then stated that he refused to give me a price adjustment, since according to their records I had paid less than the current price of the camcorder, $809.10, even though I really paid $790 + 19.99 + 29.99 + 9.99 because the bag, tripod, and tape were supposedly FREE. He said that "This was a very good price for the camcorder and I should be happy." He also said, in a very rude manner, there is nothing he can do and he refused to "help" me anymore. I told him that I would just return the camcorder and purchase the same one from Circuit City. With a smile on his face he reminded me of the 10 day return policy (I had purchased it 12 days prior).

I am very disgusted with Mr Hoffman and HH Gregg. I feel that HH Gregg should honor their "refund the price difference, plus another 10% of the difference" policy and adjust my account accordingly. I paid $850 for a camcorder that HH Gregg is currently selling for $809.10.

Mr Hoffman treated me disrespectfully. He should treat his customers with a level of respect. I was very cordial and respectful to him up to the point of "YOU ARE STARTING TO IRRATATE ME."

I would like to let you know that this sour incident will be the last contact I, and everyone I know, will have with you company.
