I was looking to purchase a home after moving to Macon GA back in 2010. I contacted Habitat for Humanity, we did the application process and they made everything sound so sweet. W e were initially suppose to get a house that we statred building on at the beginning of 2012. But they told us that we were not getting that house we were getting another house on another street.
By then we had helped build 4 houses and cleaned several lots. The day day came for us to close on the house, I had taken a job in the city so I could be closer to my home, but they told me that my house was not complete, and I would have to wait, so my kids and I paid for a motel for 1 week and a half. Then we stayed with friends. Until the house was complete.
Since moving in the screws are coming through the walls, of the house. The pipes under the sink had fallen apart. I also noticed that the plugs in the wall were too big to hold any of my electronics. they put my house inthe middle of a slum, I have people living on both sides of me that have extremely poor yard maintence and there is a meth house right next door to me. I have called the city, and have tried to get habitat to help, with no help.
After having problem after problem with this home. I purchased another home, and sent a request for habitat for buy my home back. They declined and told me that I would have to qualify someone and sell the house for them and give them the money. They ar not wanting tohelp me out, yet they don't want to buy the house back either. I have 3 kids and I don't want my kids in the environment. But Habitat doesn't care about the quality of living of someone, they just want to fill their pockets off the sweat of volunteers and homeowners.
I need someone to help me get out from this contract and get my kids to a safer place.
