Furniture Showplace Swindlers charged for furniture we never recieved
When I was shopping for furniture, I was specific in trying to find a place where the furniture was in stock so I could avoid the 4 to 6 weeks wait (if possible). I went to the furniture showplace where the salesrep there Mike B, after I told him of my intention, had me wait around for 20 extra minutes to check and see if the furniture is in stock.
He then went out of his way to insist that most everything was in stock and that the piece that wasnt would at most be a 2 week wait and that they never deliver furniture in a 4-6 week time frame.
After I committed to buying the furniture he put on the paperwork that the furniture would be deliverd by 11/30 and when I called for delivery they told me nothing was in stock and no matter how mad I got at being lied to there was nothing they could do.
Finally I had two people in the customer service department indicate that the only piece missing was the sofa (everything else was in stock) so I told them to deliver everything, call when the couch comes in and Ill pick it up myself.
They scheduled the delivery and only the bedroom set arrived and my entire living room was on backorder. In short, they either sold the remainging pieces out from under me, lied about it being in stock, or intentially held them back to swindle another $100 in delivery charges from me since it was now more than one piece of furniture.
At the same time they put through the paperwork to charge me for ALL the funiture which I believe its illegal to charge someone for something they have not received! So if anyone is looking for furniture, beware when you go to furniture showplace, they dont understand what the meaning of telling the truth is and after they get you to commit to a purchase they screw you all the way!
