Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We are first time buyers, and unfortunatley we went with Forecast Homes (K.Hovnanian). As we walked through the model of our home at the Forecast Diamond and Emerald Shore Point homes in Lake Elsinore the first thing that caught our eye was the beautiful arches in the entry ways (hallway, livingroom, den)and an interesting opening (arch) from the living room to the family room.

In the family room there was a media niche over the fireplace. Then we walked into the den which had a cozy little window seat and nook in the corner of the room. We really did not need to go any further because the whole architecture inside of the home was beautiful and had character. In the master bathroom was double sinks with a vanity seating area.

We signed papers that day (FEB.14, 2004). We were told that our move in date would be in the begining of August 2004, as of today Oct. 2004 we were notified that move in is now going to be Jan. 2004 and that all the special features in the home that we absolutly LOVED was not going to be in our home because the BUILDER chose not to include them in the Canyon Heights community in Quail Valley where our home was being built.

We were initially told by the salesperson(Denny) at the Lake Elsinore location that the exact SAME Forecast homes were going to be built in the Quail Valley area, 400 new homes to be exact!

LIES,LIES,LIES!!!

Our home is just recently starting to get built, but how can you build a home without going over the options that the buyer wants put in the home????? Well Forecast did. We recieved a phone call Sunday afternoon Sept.26,2004 from the salesman at Forecast saying we basicly had six hours to get to there office and choose the options for our home,"AND OH YEA! We will need a 100% deposit for the options, not hte 50% that you were told four months ago". We're talking thousands of dollars not hundreds that they wanted us to come up with in six hours!

Four months earlier we were told by the salesman and saleswomen that the options pricing sheet was not available at that time and that they would call us when it was available so that we could make an appointment to go over the options.

Four months earlier we also told them that the two definite options we wanted were the fireplace and sliding window in the master bedroom. ANd over the months that have gone by they would tell us "Oh we didn't forget the two options you want".

Well then why is the concrete poured and the framing up on our house with no fireplce or sliding window. Now they have to go back and rip apart what they have alredy built and put our options in.

Many nore structural items we got RIPPED OFF on including lot premium for a bigger backyard.

To the gentleman who refered to a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT-COUNT US IN!!!!!!!!!!

I still stand by my first report on Forcast Homes in Quail Valley and even now at this time I am very upset with Forecast Homes. Early last year my husband and I wanted to purchase our home in his name only (now not needing a co-buyer). He was basically told by a Forecast employee that sure they can redo the docs but unless we remove our comment from the Rip-off report website we would have to purchase our home at the current price it was selling for rather than the original price we bought 9 months earlier. Needless to say we were DISGUSTED with how Forecast was doing business and could not believe they could even do this to our family in addition to backing up our move in date an additional 4 months (at that time. We ended up moving in our home 1 year after our original move in date). I was unable to remove our comment from the Rip-off report website so I had to write something "nice" about Forecast. Though my comment about Jim is true, we were in a PANICK and that is why my second comment was on the website. My feelings now are that Maurice Moody's replacement Cindy is a joke! And Chad, another joke! I think the last time we talked to them was months ago( they were to get back to us about a meeting we had with Chad) and they returned calls just as Mr.Moody did.

Rebuttal buying a new home process

#6Consumer Comment

Tue, March 01, 2005

Last October 5, 2004 I wrote a report regarding Forecast homes, since then I am happy to say that my family and I have had nothing but positive and encouraging experiences with the company especially with one individual in particular by the name of Jim Conter at the Quail Valley office site. Jim has made us feel more comfortable with the whole "buying a new home process" with his kindness, patience, dedication to the client, and honesty. My family and I can't wait until we move into our beautiful new home!
