I closed escrow on a Forecast Home in 2001 and we have had lots of problems ever since. I am convinced there is no warranty deptartment, it is just a fiction of the Forecast salespersons imaginations. We have had numerous doors and windows leak, electrical problems, faulty landscaping irrigation, bare stucco (no paint) cracked beams (under gutters), black stuff oozing through bedroom walls, our dryer was not wired for 220v, only 110v, huge gaps in doorways and doors not closing properly. Terrible concrete work - chipped and driveway has sunk 3/4", missing flyscreens, kitchen cabinets all wonky and finally - bowed walls and drywall seams clearly visible. Do you think I can get them out to repair their shoddy workmanship? With the electrical problems it took 2 weeks and 10 phone calls and finally this guy turns up, rips my circuit board up, jams in a few new circuits, leaves the mess there and then informs me I have VOIDED MY WARRANTY due to the fact I OPENED my circuit board (when investigating why my circuits were tripping when dryer on). Unbelieveable.... Does Forecast realize people tell other people who tell other people?? I suppose their attitude is in Northern California if you don't like it, there's thousands more lining up to hand over their money. I am in the process of selling this house and I will never consider buying another Forecast home. I pray it passes inspection for the new buyer!
