I went into El Tecolote Furniture in Palm Desert California to shop for a Sofa & Chair, I did not see anything on the show room floor that caught my eye. The salesperson suggested ordering a sofa & chair from one of their catalogs, so we looked for the pieces and came up with a set. I then told the salesperson I was a little hesitant on purchasing the set incase they did not match the rest of my decor. He assured me at that time, if there is any problem whatsoever,(Meaning: does not match) we will be glad to refund your money. I took the salesperson on his word thinking they where reputable and this was store policy. The furniture was delivered to my home and guess what... It did not match. "NOT EVEN CLOSE". So I contacted the store and they said no problem, we will pick it up. They did... Shortly after that I recieved a letter from them stating that since the furniture was an order item, that they would have to put it on their floor for sale and as soon as they sold it they would refund my money. "I was shocked". When I asked the salesperson, before I purchased it, he said they would gladly refund my money with NO PROBLEMS. I am an elderly Woman on a fixed income and I have been waiting for several months now for my money. I cannot afford to wait, $3500 dollars is alot of money for me. I feel I was mislead and lied to. I would not recomend anyone to shop at this store. I am looking for revenge "PLEASE HELP ME GET MY MONEY BACK".
