I am a dedicated camper, that would like to share, some first hand insite, on (ONE) local campground, in my area, who excells on ripping off the public. I never incured any camping experience, of this magnification, thru my 30 plus years of camping. What do changes address ???? -

This is my key agenda for me sharing, my insite, to how this campground operates - UNDER NEW - OWNER/MANAGER - which changed a few years ago.

If you are planning to visit NEW YORK STATE, and or live in NEW YORK STATE, and are seeking to obtaine a campground, in the upper CATSKILL REGION, let it be noted that - AWARENESS is KNOWLEDGE and FREEDOM OF SPEACH is PRICELESS. --- Bless thoes boys, that built the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE. ---

EARLTON HILL FAMILY CAMPGROUND LTD. - GREENE COUNTY, EARLTON NEW YORK 12058

Nicely contained area campground, with over 300 plus sites, moterately priced, in a senic setting, and many attractions in the near by area to visit, and travel wise, close to interstates. WHO COULD ASK FOR ANYTHING MORE -- YA RIGHT . ATTRACTIONS, contained at this campground, are the one's to be noted. ENTERTAINMENT, well you will have to draw your own

conclusions.

Do you get your MONEY'S WORTH, and a care free enjoyable

vacation. ????? CHECK IT OUT -- Choose your camping vacation,

campground wisely, your couriosity, may give you some insite to safety, and the waste, of your hard earn money, unless you are a thrill seeking camper, with money to burn.

To set the mode - 1/3 of the campers, are relatives and or kiss up friends to OWNER/MANAGER. The other 2/3 are the general public.

This will give you some insite, to where you might fit into this

setting.

1. Rules are tailored to the category, that you might fall into.

2. Little safety excercised, and inforced, to most of the general public.

3. Reserved sites, are not always available upon entering.

4. Camper sales promotions / with campground - are not always

honored.

5. Electric meters are not gauged properly - private owned meters.

STAY LESS AND PAY MORE

6. A blown out concert, without music, and the attendence in the hundreds, and with no real agenda, but to get high and or wasted. ( what happened to this being a family campground ? ) No safety that weekend excercised - $$$$

MUST OF BEEN THE ADJENDA HERE.

7 Discussions between campers, on what ever occures financially - is a definate NO NO - because all camper s are not addressed eaqually.

8. DOUBLE PROFIT - Any seasonal site, can become a profit maker for owner, pull out for whatever reason -- repairs, and or a small trip to some were else, when returning, in coming camper has already pulled onto your prepaid site.

One Site, Doubble Income. HOW LOW DO YOU HAVE TO GO TO MAKE A PROFIT.

9. Seasonal sites, with or without sewers, SAME PRICE - One's

without sewers, incur an additional $$$ for pump outs. I GUESS THAT'S FAIR.

10. When dysfunctional campers, wonder onto your campsite, in the wee hours, and try to enter your camper, NO PROBLEM, this will be addressed to your dreaming mode. This is another safety getter, not believing the camper who is having their privicy invaded.

11. Drinking, excessive campers, SHINE - they are not held accountable for their actions. destroying other's property, and or threating other co-campers. I GUESS THE VICTIM, LOSES, TWICE, on this note. Where does this rank on the safety meter. ?

OWNE/MANAGER - Does not admit to error's --- OWNER/MANAGER - Is likely to be readily UN-AVAILABLE to adress camper needs. Real assuring in the problem solving mode. CAN'T GET ANY MORE PROFESSIONAL TREATMENT THAN THIS.

Hold yourself back now, the camping season for the year 2000 is almost over, but when it starts up for 2001, hook your camper up and jet yourself, to this one of a kind, vacation spot of a lifetime. NO SAFETY, NO RULES, and PLEANTY OF EXTRA OUT OF YOUR POCKET EXPENCES.

IT IS A MUST SEE AND ATTEND ADVENTURE. Hummmmmmmmmmmm...

NOTE : There are about 5 to 9 more campgrounds, within a 12 to 30 mile radious of this establishment - once again pick your campsite wisely.

DON'T BE RIP OFF

THANKYOU - DEDICATED CAMPER

This very large group of people came in late on Friday night and managed to convince my staff that  3 sites would be ample when a minimum of 6 sites should have been reserved for this large crowd of adults and all their children.  Their noise carried on until 3:00 AM.  They basically took over several additional sites for parking purposes and for their children to play.  This was primarily because their tents and other belongings completely engulfed the 3 sites.  There was merely no room except for on neighboring sites.  They were warned twice about swimming only in the designated swim area as mandated by the NYS Health Department and to remain inside their boats when on the lake.  They basically ignored every rule of the campground when it comes to noise, encroachment on other sites, swimming, and boating.  When confronted about it, they would either cop an attitude, or tell you one thing and do the complete opposite.  This campground does have a very large seasonal base and we are proud of that.  When weekenders, such as the ones above, come in and think they are going to take over and make up their own rules, my best advise is to find another campground because this won't happen at Earlton Hill.  We have many fine weekend campers that come in and enjoy the campground weekend after weekend with no problems.  If you are a campground owner and would like additional information on these folks to prevent them from coming in and terrorizing your campground feel free to contact us via our website.

I cant even begin to explain how disgusted and angry i am at this campsite. If you are looking for a place to get yelled at twice of three times a day this is the place to camp.
Let me tell you my story, my family and i went camping at this location, and let me tell you it was a nightmare.
To begin this is NOT a place for weekend campers, or tenters, or people who want to have fun, or enjoy a weekend. This a place where the seasonal camper calls the shots. According to Mark the owner, the seasonal camper is much more important than the weekend tenters.
I had a big group with me with 5 kids, we had 3 sites and there were no weekend campers around us. Only seasonal campers.  In front of my site there was an EMPTY lot that someone who was NOT present paid the season. I cant stress enough there was NO ONE in that site, it was empty. The 5 kids in my party decided to play ball in that field, Mark the owner, was furious because we were touching that property, he said we were invading that property. I cannot believe that he would get mad over an empty lot. He is out of his mind.

We brought with us 2 inflatable boats for the lake. the "beach" part of the lake is a little dirty, so in the middle of the lake we decided to swim, well folks if you want to get kicked out of this campground,  do exactly that.
The manager, who is a jerk full of himself with a napoleon complex, decided to flex his muscles and kick us out because we challenged his idea of fun.

Long story short, i believe the "new" owner has the same mentality as the old one, service was terrible, i served 4 years in the military and i can say i have been to happier bases than this campground. I STRONGLY suggest EVERYONE to stay away from this location and take your money where the customer is always right, not the stuck up wanna be owner or enlarged manager. Please feel free to contact me if you need further explanation.

Enjoyed Camping at Earlton Hills Family Campground Since 1996

My family and I have been loyal campers of the Earlton Hills Family Campground since 1996. We have enjoyed the many years that we have spent there. There is a nice lake for fishing and swimming, planned activites that my children enjoy. They like to get ALL campers involed in the activites. One of our favorite events is the olympic weekend, everybody in my family takes the time to participate together as a team. I don't know any other campers that have had any problems there! The managment has always been eager to please every camper. We all feel like family there. We have been there for along time and are planning to stay for many years to come!
