Attention Zymax victims:

I generally try to find info on the net about a product prior to spending any money or taking any health risks. I was quite surprised (in this day and age)that there was no web address on the magazine I received for the Denman Scientific Research. I found a report by channel 9 news ABC WTVC.

In addition to that there are over 119 other comments as a result of the report. There are a handful "in favor" of the product (possibly Zymax employees)?, but the rest are not. There is no Denman Scientific Research Company, and the Dr. Perry, well this guy (Jeff Schacter from D.C.) said he was very surprised to find a picture of himself advertised as a Dr. Perry in this magazine! He is contacting a lawyer!

One "in favor" claims that she is a nurse and her nurse friend loss weight, and another nurse responds by saying that if she was really a nurse she would not endorse a product with ephedrine in it as people with and without a history of heart problems are dying from products with ephedrine in them.

This is one of the 119 comments. As a matter of fact, that magazine is not a real publication since it is not listed with the audit bureau of circulation. It is most likely an expensive brochure made at a print shop and distributed via bulk mailings.

Also, there are a list of complaints and other aliases that the company uses at the Better Business Bureau mainland British Columbia http://www.bbbvan.org/company_reports/find_report/index.cfm (under Denman Scientific Research) (http://www.newschannel9.com/vnews/983568236/)

Here is the report, and I think that anyone who was ripped off should go to the 20/20 web site and submit this for an idea for a story. Again, here is the article:

"Zymax Diet Pill

Janet Green got a magazine in the mail and she says, if losing weight fast is a concern, you'd better INVESTIGATE the claims in the magazine FIRST, before you spend your money..

Ms. Green says one headline on the front page of Plastic Surgery Magazine caught her eye.. it read "new doctor's pill that makes weight loss history."

Further examination of "Plastic Surgery Magazine" revealed the entire publication was about Zymax, a diet pill..

The brochure includes testimonials from happy dieters who've supposedly used Zymax, examples of how it's used and of course, the order form..

At that point, Ms. Green was considering actually trying the product.

Doctor Charles Adams specializes in alternative medicines.. he says the brochure's pretty slick, but inconclusive.. he pointed out, there were no references, and no numbers where consumers could ready anybody connected with the product.

He says, those are just TWO of the cautions here..

Also, he says watch for buzz words and phrases, like "safer, better, faster," "fantastic," "amazing," "never been this easy.".. the magazine is loaded with those type of words.

Meanwhile, Ms. Green got on the Internet and found plenty of people who say the product didn't work for them.. she says most of the complaints centered around the fact that nobody seemed to be getting their money back, despite Zymax's money-back guarantee.

We checked with directory assistance, and there is NO such thing as the Denman Health Center in Vancouver, British Columbia.. that's where you send your money..

Meanwhile, Ms. Green says, if YOU get this brochure from Plastic Surgery Magazine, touting the quote "incredible" diet drug Zymax, SHE says you'd be better off throwing it away..

By the way, I checked with the Audit Bureau of Circulation.. they're the people who keep track of all the magazines published in this country, and folks.. there is no such thing as Plastic Surgery Magazine.. I also checked with two other agencies, who ALSO don't have it listed..

Before you spend your money on "miracle drugs," please consult with your doctor first.."

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... click here to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
