Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
This man lied and cheated me when I tried to buy a diamond engagement ring to propose to my girlfriend. He told me the diamond was a G, VS2 and it turned out to be a Clarity Enhanced diamond, which means its been treated with lasers, chemicals and is not a natural stone. Its worth much less that other diamonds but more importantly its not what I asked for and he lied to me.

He also had me sign an invoice he said was for shipping puposes. It turned out to be the sales contract that he later filled in with all the lies (clarity enhanced) to protect himself.

I'm lucky my fiance and I didn't break up over this incident it has been so stressful on our relationship.

This man named LEO, his father owns the business, Daniel Diamonds, is very dishonest. He committed fraud by lying to me and then an additional fraud when he had me sign a fake shipping invoice, later determined to be a sales contract. This man has no morals, he is ethically bankrupt and I'm not sure how he sleeps at night.

Daniel Diamonds is a great place to buy a diamond

First, I had no intention writing a review of Daniel Diamonds. I was searching on the net for their email address so I could contact them about buying a second diamond when I came across this negative review. I had an absolutely wonderful experience with them and I felt I should give the viewpoint of a satisfied customer.

I wanted a 1.5 carat, F, VS1, Ideal Cut diamond, with specific Table and Depth percentages, GIA certified. I had researched over the internet and gone into the stores in my home of San Diego. Prices for a stone of the type I wanted varied from about $14,600 (at unknown internet sites) to about $22,000 at local jewelers. Blue Nile had the type I wanted for over $19,000.

I was in New York soon thereafter and I decided to try out its diamond district. I did not know which shop to choose. I ended up at Daniel Diamonds because they had a friendly (through scruffy looking) doorman who welcomed me nicely. When I got inside I was a little worried because they seemed to have mostly lower priced (and quality) diamonds than what I was looking for. But they went out of their way to listen to what I wanted and bring back several samples that fit my specs from nearby diamond cutters. They found a stone for me that was wonderful - within my specs - and we agreed on a price that was many thousand dollars less than Blue Nile.

All in all the experience was great. The stone was beautiful. The store salesman (Leo) was a straight shooter. My wife was ecstatic. I felt like I had gotten a great deal.  When I got back home to San Diego I had the stone formally appraised for insurance. Not only was it exactly as Leo had represented, but its appraisal retail replacement cost was over 35% more than I paid.

Based on my experience I would highly recommend Daniel Diamonds and recommend buying in the NY diamond districy as opposed to locally.

the truth about the sale of the diamond

mr.frank is not telling the whole truth , first of all mr.frank was clearly explanied what he was buyingat the time of the sale. his purchase was a 1.50ct princess cut diamond engagment ring in platnium that was clarity enchanced, that is percedure that removes natural inperfectoins from the diamond with a laser, these diamonds sell for about 40% less than natural diamonds. mr.franks diamond was g color si1 in clarity 1.50cts ,princess cut. i told it is si1 clarity but it looks much better like a vs2 clarity but by law we can only call it a si1 even that it looks better because it was enchanced,he payed about 3700.00 for it in a platnium mounthing. he had gotten the diamond appraised at an independent diamond labratory it came back at about 7500.00 retail value let him show you the aprasial that he had gotten for the diamond.when he came back he even asked for a diffrent setting i didnt even charge him a penney. i even shipped the diamond to save him some sales tax to new jersy.now the second part of the rebuttal is that with every diamond purchase we give a diamond garantee certificate witch it enables the coustmer to upgrade the diamond for a full purchase price towards a diffrent diamond at a higher priced one at anytime lifetime warranted. he came back about 6 months later he picked out a round diamond a 1.01ct f color vs1 clarity gia cert with it that goes for about 9000.00 i told him just pay the diffrance in the price of 5300.00 he apsulty he wanted to spend was about 4000.00 i told him i cant because it costs me much more he got upset and left the store and thats where we had left at. we had been in the diamond bussness for a very long time we sell 1000 to 2000 items to indivuals in a years peroid of time if any of my costmers werent happy with his or hers purchase we would work very hard to satisfy them in anyway possiable. but when mr.frank was purchasing the diamond he was not paying a close attention to what i was explaning to him about the procedure and after all was said and done i am still willing to take the diamond back at its full purchased price for a diffrent diamond in our stock, natural, enchanced, round, what ever he likes he has no time table he can come in and ill still make him happy. thank you leo
