Lone Star was hired to complete the removal, preparation and installation of new brick on our home. They were also hired to reframe windows and install 4 new windows, reframe a gable and install new cornice as well as lintels on the home above the windows. During the brick installation, they ripped out the cord from one of our security cameras and have not replaced it, even though they said they would.
The camera is no longer made so it is only available online through eBay and similar places, new. The cord is only available with a new camera as it is a proprietary cable that one cannot get elsewhere. Also, they were contracted to complete the brick within a week or so and it had been about 3 weeks. They moved excruciatingly slow and in 3 weeks had only gotten about 40% of the portion to be bricked, completed. Beyond that they had left string in the brick's mortar hanging out, failed to provide all materials for a flat fee and instead continually asked for additional funds to complete the project above and beyond the contracted amount.
Our agreement stated that the labor AND all materials would be included. Even after agreeing to pay an additional $300 in materials, they STILL did not come back and refused to finish. We refused to pay them any additional funds until the project was complete. We paid them a total of $2800 plus an additional $700 or so for other additional items they said were required. Craig Gerstenberger promised to show up several times and never did, when he promised to deliver materials, so they could finish bricking, he didn't. He refused to finish unless we gave him additional work beyond the scope of this project, essentially blackmailing us. So then we were left with brick half done and his refusal to complete it and therefore had to try to find someone else to complete it for the same price and hade to pay MORE out of pocket in order to have it completed. He also tore up our front porch without finishing it, and tore up cornice.
After this I filed a complaint against him with the BBB Better Business Bureau in Dallas/Fort Worth and he even refused to talk to them ultimately. The man is a liar and a thief. Don't use him for ANYTHING or you'll regret it!
