I have been going to Cottman for a couple of years with the same vehicle.  Cottman Auto had my vehicle for 5 months while I was out at sea.  I requested an oil change, complete tune up and any other repairs that needed to be corrected to be done, for them to keep in contact with me and keep me informed.  When my ship pulled into home port, I was informed that my mother was in intensive care and not doing well.  I called Cottman Auto and asked if my vehicle was ready for pick up and explained to them what my situation was and the urgency on me getting home.  They said the vehicle has been done for a  while.

I go to their shop, I pay 2500 for all the repairs and asked if they were sure it was road ready?  They assured me, I pulled out of the parking lot, made it to the first light and all my dashboard lights came on.  I went back to the shop, the mechanic said that fumes got up into the manifold and he had to reset something.  I asked again, Are you sure that everthing is fixed on my vehicle and again expressed how important it was for me to get home.  The mechanic assured me once again.  I am illiterate to mechanics on vehicles, and I had trusted these people.

2 hours into my drive home, my vehicle shuts down in the middle of a four lane high way.  I called Cottman Auto, the woman said, I don't know what to tell you, get it towed back to the shop so we can look at it.   Pissed can't even describe what I was feeling.  A gentleman pulled over to help me out.  He pulled out of his trunk a bunch of fancy gadgets, looked all through my engine and couldn't find anything wrong.  Then he pulls out my oil stick, and says Ma'am, you have no oil in your engine.  I called Cottman Auto back, and told the woman that there was no oil in my engine.  Her response was, "I told ??? to do an oil change, I am going to have to talk to him about that".   Needless to say, I was floored.

I just got off a 9 month deployment, my mother is in intensive care, I haven't seen my Son in a year and I have Cottman Auto playing the rip off game with me.  I had no choice but to have the vehicle towed back to they're shop.  No one was there when I got there.  It was a Sat, and they are closed on Sunday, so I was stuck in Va until Monday.  I waited for Cottman to call me, when they didn't call by 11am, I called them.  I was told that my engine blowing had nothing to do with there being no oil in it, that it was a glitch and it happens, but for $5000, they would put a new engine in my truck.  I ended up going and buying a car and going home to be with my family.  I have a court hearing on January18th, 2012 with Cottman Auto.  UNBELIEVABLE.
