I to have been ripped off. We signed up with compuserve when we bought our computer from wal-mart at that time I agreed to a 3 year rebate program to stay with compuserve, after about 1 1/2 they offered a migration with alot for the same price, no extra charge just the 21.95 a month. So I took advantage of the offer.

Now almost a 1 1/2 later stupid me I never really looked at my bank statment until the other day and noticed I was being charged 21.95 from aol and 21.95 from compuserve, When I called them and questioned them about it they said we had to different accounts and I thought why and how come would one family have 2 different accounts going to the same billing address, with one phone line and one computer.

So I figured it up and we had been over charged almost 500.00 After spending days of trying to get some answers and dealing with people you can't even understand (language), I finally got one of the accounts cancelled, and they told me by law they only have to rememburse us for 60 days worth of charges.

TO me they admitted that I should not have been charged for two accounts but oh well so sad we don't have to give you back your money, I am supposed to have until this Dec 2003 for my contract for my rebate to be done and then I am going to new server the same day and I am going to tell everyone I can what rip off's compuserve is and not to deal with them at all

First, I am not associated with Compuserve, nor do I use their service. In this case, Compuserve screwed up. But, the real fault in this matter lies with you. You were over billed almost $500 because you were careless by not keeping up with your monthly account statements. You can't blame Compuserve for that. If you had reported the over billing in time, you would not have lost any money. Take this as a lesson learned. Maybe now you'll scrutinize your monthly account statements with the attention needed.
