Classic Hits Dot Com charges for services if you ORDER THEM OR NOT! * REBUTTAL .."I am a very honest person in a law enforcement family"
In December of 1999, my Company went online to seek out a "Web Site Submission service". We contacted over 30 submission experts including www.classichits.com
We requested a quote along with all the others we had gathered and went with another company. In the mean while, this person did some submissions on her own, without our knowledge or permission, since we had gone w/ another company.
She then demanded payment for services we NEVER requested or auth. We NEVER contracted with this person to have ANY WEB WORK DONE. Her scam seems to be she get's your information on your web page, does a little submissions without your knowlegde and then trys to bill you for the work. If you DON'T pay up she adds your name to a slanderous web site located at http://www.classichits.com/dbww/main.htm. She has even gone to the extent to post forged pictures claiming them to be our "Staff" and unfounded claims that we are a "Bad Internet Company".
This is all over a "Bill" for $55. I have heard of this scam before, but never thought as a company WE would run into it. We have no problem signing a complaint or pressing this matter.
The Internet needs to be kept safe from scams like this.

I could say the SAME about her company, (That is if it WAS a Company and even HAD a business Licence!) If you DO have one at this time, please provide it.... Cavalier Salvage is a Reg. Corp. in the State Of Nevada, thru the Bruce Kirkwell Group. We also hold a business License in the city of Tigard Oregon, where our headquarters are located. After this woman made SLANDEROUS remarks RE: Cavalier Salvage Inc. her ISP FORCED her to REMOVE them from her web site, or her account would be deleted. (There were other's that ALSO had responded to her ISP RE: Slander, and a class action law S: is pending Names and telephone numbers available on request form our Legal Department). Thank you for listing this slanderous report on my company.
I have been fighting this person since 12-17-99 on this.
I am astute enough to know the difference between a business quote and an order.
This person- Ethan Platt of Cavalier Salvage totally scammed me and then didnt pay for services. I am not the only one. There are quite a few people around that have been taken.
Currently he is being investigated by the IRS, FBI, Oregon Department of Justice/Attorney Generals and the City of Hillsboro Police, Hillsboro, Oregon.
I have saved every correspondence with Ethan Platt, and do have his order form, and emails telling me to proceed with the work. He completely scammed me.
This was done back when I used to do work before payment- never again.
Yes, I do have a website that I would list the worst deadbeats. In 2.5 years of business, I have only had a small handful of people not pay.
I have been harassed by Ethan Platt. He has posted websites with completely incorrect information on me (like this), and mail bombed me, wrote nasty messages in my Guestbook. Did you know he also uses many aliases/fake names?
I have all documentation on this, and would be more than happy to share it.
I am a very honest person in a law enforcement family, and this just adds insult to injury. What makes this so sick is that I have a very busy online business, and never would have the time to rip off someone, even if I had wanted to.
It is he who is the scam/con artist, not I.
Please investigate and remove.
Let me know if you need any name or phone #'s of the Agencies that are investigating Ethan Platt/Cavalier Salvage.
