Circuit City Stores Selling Returned Merchandise As New! in New York too ..we were scamed!
Read your Rip-off Report Circuit City Stores Selling Returned Merchandise As New!(Report #299) and the many other reports you have on Circuit City.
Earlier this year my husband bought me a Compaq computer for my birthday and since then we have had nothing but problems with it.
When he purchased the machine, it was sold to him without a box. The sales associate told him that the box was destroyed during shipping. He assured him that the machine was brand new and there was no damages to it.
I think we were scamed!
We will never purchase another thing from Circuit City and we'll make sure that our friends and family know of this.

open box returns, sales counselor miss led you

unfortunately the sales counselor miss led you on out of the box merchandise. any time a product is out of the box it is labeled as "open box merchandise". this means it could have been a display, it could have been a product that was purchased and returned within our 30 day return policy. the product is checked out before putting out on the sales floor and it is marked down due to the factory seal being broken. the product carries the original manufactures warranty and you have 30 days to exchange or get a full refund if you are not satisfied for what ever reason. you can find some of your better deals in open box merchandise. you will find on a lot of merchandise customer purchase for a special event use the product and return it within the 30 day period because they know they will recieve a full refund and then we (circuit city) has to mark it down and stick a open box tag on it.
